Easter: Let’s imbibe Christ’s sacrificial spirit to overcome COVID-19 – Buhari

and excitement that come with such festivities as the Easter, reminding all that the currently imposed way of life is humanity’s surest way of subduing the scourge.
He, however, called on all, especially Christians, to revive their faith and hope, coupled with prayers and other personal efforts, noting that without these, overcoming the current circumstances might be unreachable.
“I rejoice with our Christian brothers and sisters as well as all Nigerians on the occasion of the celebration of this year’s Easter.
“This year’s commemoration of Easter comes amid the grip with which COVID-19 has held the entire world.
“Unprecedented in living memory, majority of Christians have found themselves marking Easter in a subdued manner, away from the usual congregation in churches. This is unusual and very unfortunate.
“However, I wish to enjoin our Christian compatriots to rekindle their faith in Christ who overcame persecution, sufferings and displayed endurance, steadfastness and above all piety.
“Jesus Christ represented man’s ability to withstand temporary pains in the hope of everlasting glory.
“I urge you to imbibe and live the values of humility, discipline, perseverance, sacrifice and obedience which Jesus Christ demonstrated during His stay on earth.
“There is no better opportunity than now for all Christians in particular, and Nigerians in general, to remain faithful and hopeful that with intensified prayers backed by personal and collective responsibility, the nation shall pull through this most difficult trial.
“I have no doubt that if all stakeholders – individuals and groups – play their part to the fullest as advised by our scientists and medical experts in confronting COVID-19, the inherent resilience and determination of our people will enable us to pull through.
“As I stated in my national broadcast on Sunday, March 29, 2020, since there is currently no known vaccine against the virus, ‘the best and most efficient way to avoid getting infected is through regular hygiene and sanitary practices as well as social distancing”, he observed.
The President also reemphasized the commitment of his administration to continue to cater to the needs of Nigerians, especially the most vulnerables among the population.
He, however, singled out the performance of the Boss Mustapha-led Presidential Task Force (PTF) on (COVID-19) for the tireless efforts it had put into protecting Nigerians against the scourge and for ensuring that the poor and vulnerable in society are not left to their fate.
“May I use this opportunity to commend the encouraging containment and ameliorating strategies put in place by members of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.
“I am very much aware of the personal and collective inconveniences suffered by our people due to measures such as restriction of movements and closure of business premises. Being “a matter of life and death,” these sacrifices are in everybody’s interest to save our country from calamity.
“The welfare of our people is paramount. Accordingly, the most economically vulnerable in our communities will continue to be uppermost in our plans, and efforts will be made to supply them with basic means of survival”, the President said.
He assured Nigerians that government had not gotten carried away with the challenges of the global pandemic and forgotten the imminent danger that terrorists and insurgents posed to the country, saying the various agencies of government tasked with security had been up and running to safeguard Nigerians and their communities against these threats.
“While we see the COVID-19 pandemic as a global challenge, this administration is not oblivious of the constant threat posed to our national security by terrorists and insurgents. They may take this opportunity to perpetrate attacks. But our armed forces and other security and intelligence services will remain vigilant and continue to contain these threats and consolidate efforts to eradicate them completely.
“As we mark this year’s Easter, whatever the circumstances, I encourage you to make the most of the situation, and to keep safe”, the President said.

Covid-19: Hon. Ariyo Kemuna Takes The Lead- Adebola Femi

A Heist Over The Long Awaited Renaissance In Kabba/Bunu As Hon. Ariyo:  Kemuna Takes The Lead over Covid-19 pandemic.

There is no doubt that Hon. Aare is a coconut blessed with divine task to be fruitful and useful to humanity. He's versatile, courageous, and he could bear fruit for a long time.

One unique thing about Aere is that he doesn't control his people, he inspire them to do great things. He had vison; he knew how to key into the vision of other people which is precipitated on his uncommon capacity to implement plans that turned dreams to reality.

Invariably, despite of our mountainous inequities, God still bestows mercy on us and gave us a God-fearing man to usher us out of the slavery our past leaders plunged us into and deliver Kabba/Bunu from this pandemic by lawfully enforcing all preventive and palliative measures as directed by His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello. This fact is evident in the euphoria that took over our local government when His excellency Alh. Yahaya Bello announced his name to take over the steer of leadership in Kabba/Bunu due to his humanly nature and unmatched capacity.

"Aere" as he's popularly known his a man love by his peole, this love is anchored on his relentless effort in putting smile in the faces of his people.

In his words, his succinctly posits that:
"the only reason we are here today is because God said we have to be here; we are not here because we are the smartest, the most popular or the most powerful. We are here to make friends, build bridges in order to ensure that everybody gets what he or she is entitled. Self-centred leaders are into control and power and it adversely resort to unsavoury behaviours in the interest of self preservation. Great leaders on the other hand, understand the reciprocity factor with an uncommon capacity to implement plans that turned dreams to reality".

Without any form of ambiguity, in the face of this pandemic that bedeviled the world at present, I want unequivocally imploy us to remain steadfast and calm in this trying period as I know we shall surely pass over it.

Honorable Aere Ariyo, re-writing the narratives of the past.

God bless Nigeria!
God bless Kogi State!!
God bless Nigeria!!!

Femi Adebola.

Boko Haram: We are coming after you, Shekau threatens Idriss Deby.

Shekau to Chad's President- “Today is Monday, 6th in the month of, Insha Allahu, Shaaban, the Hijirah of the Prophet of Allah, from Meccah to Medinah, 1441.

“We believe after this introduction, we heard certain things from Chad from a certain individual named Idriss Deby.

“He came out fully dressed up with the ambition of fighting the religion of Islam, that is he wants to fight us because we said we will work for the enthronement of Islam, we are  Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad.

“Our aim is to follow the tenet of the Koran; our aim is to follow the tenets of the prophet; our aim is to practice Islam the way the Prophet of Allah left instructions before dying and handing over to knowledgeable scholars, who have also passed it down to me.

“Idris Daby, I will address you now. I am insha Allahu taalla, Abubakar ibn Mohammed Shekau, the Imam of Jama’atu Ahlis Sunna Lidda’awati wal-Jihad.

“I decided to send you this message quickly. Don’t think because you’ve fought battles in ignorance not according to the tenet of Islam, and today, because we said we will work for Allah, you think you will triumph over us.

“First, even Pharaoh was frightened. Idriss Deby, fear Allah, repent and become a Muslim.

“Be careful, all these aggressions with weapons, insha Allah, you will not defeat us.

“Because of this, you can’t do anything to us. That area in which we were victorious, that Allah made us to kill you your men (killing of 90 Chadian soldiers), it is not that we are in enmity with human beings but anybody that is in enmity with Allah, is also our enemy. This is the summary.”

He consoled the troops for the heavy casualties.

“My fellow brethren, take heart and endure. This kind of thing has happened to many. They endured and Allah gave then victory.

“We are together in the night and also at dawn; insha Allah we are together. Allah knows the  servants that are working wholeheartedly  and in sincerity, and he knows the kind of victory he will give to them. Allah will give us victory.

“My brethren, be consoled and stand firm; be full of prayers; continue with the work and may Allah help us and nobody will vanquish us since we said we will work for Allah.”

He vowed to gun down the Chadian President.

“Idriss Deby you are in trouble. Idriss Deby you are in trouble; Idriss Deby you are in trouble.  You made us to be calling your name because you are fighting Allah. People of Chad, rise up.

“The kind of life you are living is not according to the Koran, not from the hadiths of his prophet.

“But if you think you can do this, Allah is a helper and he is stronger than all. May Allah help us.”

Chadian troops, led by the President, Idriss Deby engaged Boko Haram sect in a heavy battle at the around the Lake Chad region, killing many of the sect members, destroying their base and capturing weapons.

Boko Haram: Surrender now or die, Chadian President to Sheukau

Idriss Deby, the Chadian president, has called on the Boko Haram’s factional leader, Abubakar Shekau, to surrender or be killed inside his Dikoa hideout.
Daily Trust reports that this was coming days after President Deby led the Chadian Army in an offensive against the terrorists which saw about 100 of them killed.
Deby who spoke in French to his countrymen said that Shekau has the chance to surrender now or risk being smoked out of his hideout in Dikoa, warning that Shekau would be killed the same way some of his commanders were killed.

House of Representatives member, representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Hon. Leke Abejide has donated N400,000 as relief funds to support the fight against spread Coronavirus in Yagba Federal Constituency.

Leke Abejide, in a statement he personally signed early Sunday morning, said his contribution of N400,000 alongside two months salary directly deducted from NASS to fight the virus in the country will help form part of stimulus package for constituents of Yagba Federal Constituency.

He urged all Yagba constituents to embrace farming as a means to curtail the economic hardship that may arise from the lockdown and stay at home measure as announced by the state government.

Read statement below:

DEAR GOOD PEOPLE OF YAGBA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY,

I AM ADDRESSING YOU AGAIN WITHIN A SPACE OF TWO WEEKS DUE TO THE SITUATION THE WHOLE WORLD NIGERIA INCLUSIVE FOUND ITSELF.

I HAVE KEPT MUTE ABOUT WHAT IS CURRENTLY ONGOING AS REGARDS DONATIONS BY INDIVIDUALS TO HON SESAN OREBIYI’s ACCOUNT BECAUSE I ONLY READ IT ON THE PLATFORM AND NEVER KNEW HOW THE ARRANGEMENT WAS MADE.

AFTER ABOUT A WEEK IT STARTED RUNNING, HON SESAN CHATTED ME ABOUT IT AND I REPLIED THAT I AM STILL RESTING HAVEN DONE PROGRAMMES FROM 23/12/2019 UP TO END OF JANUARY 2020 RANGING FROM WIDOWS PROGRAM, DISTRIBUTION OF GRINDING MACHINES, SEWING MACHINES, MOTOCYCLES, TRICYCLES ETC, PAYMENT OF WAEC FEES. THESE  PROGRAMMES COST ME OVER N150M IN FACT VERY CLOSE TO N200M.

FOR FOOD TO GO AROUND YAGBA REQUIRES HUGE AMOUNT OF MONEY. RICE FOR  THE WIDOWS ALONE COST ME N17M IN DECEMBER 2019 APART FROM THEIR CLOTHINGS. WITH THE CLOTHINGS IS NOT LESS THAN N30M AND THE CLOTHINGS COULD NOT EVEN GO ROUND. GOD WILLING THIS YEAR IT WILL GO ROUND EVERYBODY.

MY PLAN IS HOW TO EMPOWER THE YOUTHS, WOMEN AND MEN IN THE AREA OF AGRICULTURE AND ALSO TO OPEN UP OUR FEEDER ROADS BEFORE THIS UNFORTUNATE INCIDENT.

HOWEVER, MY PLAN STILL REMAINS UNCHANGED BUT IT CAN ONLY DELAY A BIT DUE TO CURRENT WORLD PROBLEMS WHICH WITH OUR COLLECTIVE PRAYERS IN TRUTH AND IN SPIRIT IT WILL DISAPPEAR IN NO TIME.

I WILL ALSO EQUIP OUR GENERAL HOSPITAL AT IFEOLUKOTUN, ISANLU, EGBE, ODOERE, MOPA & AMURO ; AT LEAST ONE PER EACH AXIS STARTING TOWARDS END OF THE YEAR AND NEXT YEAR WITH SOME MEDICAL EQUIPMENTS THAT WILL HELP OUR PEOPLE IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. I AM GOING TO LIASE WITH MEDICAL DOCTORS IN OUR MIDST TO KNOW WHAT WE NEED THAT CAN KEEP THESE MEDICAL FACILITIES GOING BECAUSE EVERYTHING CANNOT BE DONE AT ONCE BUT ESSENTIAL THINGS TO KEEP THE PLACES MOVING WILL BE DONE BY GOD’s GRACE. I HAVE THE LIST OF THAT OF IFEOLUKOTUN ALREADY BUT I WILL STILL MAKE FURTHER RESEARCH ON IT.

I HAVE RECEIVED A LOT OF CALLS BY OUR PEOPLE ESPECIALLY THE ELDERS IN LAGOS, ABUJA , KANO THAT THEIR CONCERN IS THE INDIVIDUAL ACCOUNT NUMBER PUT FORWARD FOR THE DONATION BUT I HAVE ADVISED TO ARRANGE AND I WILL FORWARD IT ACCORDINGLY OR BUY ITEMS LIKE RICE, SEMOVITA, GARRI AND YAM FOR ONWARD DISTRIBUTION TO OUR PEOPLE. THE AMOUNT DONATED BY EACH ONE OF THEM WILL BE MADE PUBLIC.

LET ME SAY THIS, OUR PEOPLE IN ABUJA AND LAGOS ARE THE ONES REALLY AFFECTED BY THIS LOCKDOWN. PEOPLE IN THE VILLAGES CAN GO TO THEIR FARMS AND IN DOING THIS THERE IS NO HOW CORONAVIRUS CAN AFFECT THEM. WE SHOULD RETURN TO OUR MAIN OCCUPATION WHICH IS FARMING EVEN IF IT IS AT SUBSISTENT LEVEL IN ORDER TO DEFEAT HUNGER.

I AM JUST IMAGINING HOW THESE SAME PEOPLE WHO ARE CONTRIBUTING MONEY NOW WILL CONTINUE TO DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN GOD FORBID IF THIS PANDEMIC PROLONG WITHOUT BEING TIRED. IN FACT THIS IS THE TIME OUR PEOPLE START TO FOCUS ON WHAT THEY CAN DO FOR THEMSELVES RATHER THAN WHAT A POLITICIAN OR ANY OTHER PERSON CAN DO FOR THEM. “ ATELEWO ENI KI TANIJE”.

IN THOSE DAYS WHEN I WAS GROWING UP IN THE VILLAGE, WE EAT YAM, WATER YAM AND COCOYAM TILL WHEN NEW YAM COMES OUT. EVEN WHEN IT COMES OUT OUR PARENTS WILL SAY IT IS STILL TOO SOFT AND STILL BE EATING OLD YAM FOR LIKE 2 WEEKS INTO THE PERIOD OF NEW YAM. TODAY BETWEEN JULY WHEN NEW YEAR COMES OUT AND DECEMBER MOST PEOPLE IN YAGBA WILL START TEXTING MESSAGES COMPLAINING OF HUNGER. THIS IS NOT GOOD AT ALL FOR OUR DEVELOPMENT AS A PEOPLE. A YAGBA PERSON IS NOT KNOWN FOR INDOLENCE BUT BEING VERY INDUSTRIOUS. EVEN WHERE THERE IS NO HERDSMEN SOME WILL SAY THERE IS AS AN ESCUSE. ACTIVITIES OF HERDSMEN NOWADAYS IS GOING DOWN AND I BELIEVE NOW THAT FGN IS LOOKING INWARD FOR SELF FOOD SUFFICIENCY THE MATTER WILL BE LAID TO REST FINALLY.

HOLY BOOKS SAID THOSE WHO REFUSE TO WORK ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO EAT. SAINT PAUL EVEN SAID WE SHOULD DISTANCE OURSELVES AWAY FROM SUCH PEOPLE.

IN A COUPLE OF DAYS I WILL COME UP WITH SOMETHING MEANINGFUL AND HIGHER VOLUME THAT WILL BE FAR REACHING ACROSS OKUNLAND. IT WILL BE LIKE PAN OKUN NATION INITIATIVE.

THIS IS APOLITICAL BECAUSE EVERYONE IN OKUNLAND, FRIENDS AND ASSOCIATES OF OKUN PEOPLE WILL BE BROUGHT IN TO ASSIST SO THAT WE CAN PUĹL RESOURCES  THAT WILL BE FAR REACHING AND A COMMITTEE TO INCLUDE PEOPLE LIKE CHIEF KOLA JAMODU, CHIEF OWOYEMI, CHIEF OLUSHOLA AKOMODE, CHIEF TUNDE AYENI, CHIEF JIDE OMOKORE, ALH ISAH ADEBOYE, CHIEF BAYO OJO(SAN), ALH GANI OBATOYINBO, CHIEF OLUOWA, MR DAVID AIYEDOGBON, CHIEF ABIODUN OJO , SEN. SMART ADEYEMI, RT. HON ABIODUN FALAKE ,RT. HON TAJUDEEN YUSUF, RT. HON. MATHEW KOLAWOLE, ALL ELECTED STATE ASSEMBLY MEMBERS, HON ASIWAJU IDRIS ASIRU, MR BABATUNDE IRUKERA, COMMDR. FUNSHO DANIEL AND MANY OTHER EMINENT OKUN MEN AND WOMEN WILL BE SET UP. PLEASE ABOVE NAMES ARE MY SUGGESTIONS ONLY. I KNOW MORE PEOPLE WILL STILL BE BROUGHT ON BOARD.

THE COMMITTEE WILL DECIDE WHICH ACCOUNT THE MONEY SHOULD BE PAID INTO AND HOW TO CHANNEL THE RESOURCES ACROSS OKUNLAND.

THE COMMITTEE WILL HAVE SUB COMMITTEE ON FINANCE, CONTACT AND MOBILIZATION(ODA PLATFORM SUGGESTED) STRATEGIC PLANNING ETC.

ON THIS NOTE, I HEREBY ANNOUNCED A DONATION OF N400,000 IN ADDITION TO MY 2 MONTHS SALARY ALREADY TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM NASS AS OUR COLLECTIVE CONTRIBUTION TO FIGHT COVID-19.

SIGNED: REP. LEKE ABEJIDE, MHR.
