Alfred Bello And Cohorts Should Stop Transacting With Ijumu PDP

The current event in Ijumu PDP have shown that there will always be characters and agents of destabilization especially as we are approaching another election time.

Some few group of greedy individuals and self styled political traders whose ultimate goal is to use PDP as an instrument for commercial purposes to swindle intending aspirants have been using series of pseudo name to attack some Ijumu PDP leaders.

We have therefore, decided to correct the impression in other not to mislead loyal PDP members.

We wish is to urgently warn against the use of the name Kogi West PDP Youths by some unscrupulous elements and their followers who have no affiliate with youths except when they want to use the youths for political agendas.

It is important to state that their is no any point in time, morning or at night where Kogi West PDP youths agreed to meet for any discussion or deliberation much more issuing a statement against our revered leader, Sen Dino Melaye.

We are perplexed by this day light impersonation by these same characters who sold out PDP in exchange for money collected from Gov Yahaya Bello of APC during the last Gubernatorial and Senatorial rerun election in Kogi.

We wish to state that we have carried our investigation thoroughly and our findings reveals that non of the local govt youth leaders in Kogi West or the Kogi West Youth leader for that matter was a party to the self serving and childish statement issued against distinguished Senator Dino Melaye.

We wonder why they did not sign the statement if truly it originated from the appropriate youth quarter.

Let it be clear that Kogi West youths holds dearly distinguished Senator Dino Melaye lots of respect, we hold him in a very high esteem any day, anytime.

Kogi West youths have demonstrated their unflinching support, loyalty l and love for Sen. Melaye at every election and will continue to do same by the grace of God.

Therefore, nobody or any selfish individual fighting to unseat a duly recognised Ijumu PDP chairman, should make any frivolous and criminal statement against Sen. Melaye in the name of Kogi West youths.

We are aware that some youths who have mortgage their conscience long before now are behind this unproductive behaviour.

Kogi  West youths will not be an instrument for selfish agenda of some so called leaders to perpetrate any unwarranted verbal attack on Senator Dino Melaye.

It is not enough to go about making spurious statements and unsubstantiated allegations against distinguished Senator Dino over the Ijumu PDP chairmanship, they should rather approach the appropriate party organ to press their demands if any.

We wish to make it very loud and clear that distinguished Sen Dino Melaye is one of our indisputable national leader of this great party, who has contrubuted his quota in no measure to the growth, progress and development of PDP nationally, at state and local govt levels.

We seriously warn that those who are using the name of Kogi West youths to make all sorts of eye-service statement and irritating allegations should desist henceforth, or else, we will not hesitate to mobilize Kogi West youths against them. We can no longer condole the shameful acts of this faceless and fake group using all sorts of names in a bid to survive politically.

It is clear that they are in confusion and lost, so they resulted into political impersonation to blackmail of our leader(s). To that extent, these characters are so gullible and politically demented to claim that

Sen Dino Melaye lost his polling unit and ward during election. This is most dumbest and funniest claim in the recent time that even opposition politicians can stand to defend that Sen Dino Melaye constantly wins his unit and ward with a comfortable margin-lead at every election. Not just that, he is also instrumental to election victory in his Ijumu LGA and beyond via his political structure indisputably.

On the interloping and unsolicited meddling into Ijumu PDP affairs by Mr. Alfred Bello and his group,

it is important to warn them seriously to retrace their steps and stop using Ijumu PDP for their personal political transaction.

For Alfred Bello like his Ijumu counterpart, we understand that they have been collecting money from some aspirants within Ijumu and Kabba to do the hatchet job, we advise them to either return the money collected or retrace their steps or be ready for stiff resistance from the people.

Alfred Bello as a tool for counter-prodution,

he is hell bent on exercising undue interference in Ijumu PDP matter because of his personal and selfish greed to suit the political orchestration of some few characters, who wants to dictate to Ijumu PDP, yet don't want to be seen as behind the whole issues.

Let it be clear to Alfred Bello and cohorts that nothing will change the name of hon Bode Olorunmaiye as the duly recognised Ijumu PDP chairman, as affirmed by the people and the party nationally.

It could be recalled that hon. Bode Olorunmaiye was among the 21 local govt party chairmen of Kogi State inaugurated on the 29th October, 2021 by the PDP in Abuja. It is also instructive to note that, hon. Bode Olorunmaiye name was duly published by the National Convention Committee of our great party to which he participated in all convention activities and also voted.

For the sake of our loyal and peaceful party members from Ijumu who have since united for the progress of our great party, it will interest you to know that hon. Bode Olorunmaiye attended the meeting held after the convention at Villa-U hotels, Abuja.

The meeting was at the instance of state PDP chairman, Sam Uhuotu, attended by all 21 local govt party chairmen of which Mr. Alfred Bello was in attendance.

Anyone following this development will begin to wonder why the sudden infiltration, dishonourable and destructive attitude of Mr. Alfred Bello and his sponsors over Ijumu PDP chairmanship. It is clear that they have lost it completely!

Worthy of note, two weeks ago, Ijumu PDP under the chairmanship of hon. Bode Olorunmaiye held an enlarged stakeholder's meeting with local govt executives, ward executives, party leaders and supporters in attendance.

We do not know what Alfred Bello and his co-sponsors from both Ijumu and Kabba intend to achieve aside division, greed and commercialization of our great party, but we can assure them that our teeming party members believed in the leadership of Sen Dino Melaye and Prince Olusola Akanmode, other respected and responsible leaders of our part and we will stand by their choice.

Hon. Bode Olorunmaiye has commenced his tenure on a good note, and will end it on a very successful note irrespective of the sick antics of some political black-marketers within our party.

Signed:

Friday, 3 December 2021

You are on a failed mission to destroy our party-Kogi West PDP Youths fired back at Dino.

Some PDP youths in Kogi West under the auspices of Kogi West PDP Youth Alliance has cautioned Senator Dino Melaye to stop fanning the ember of discord among members of the Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi state.

In the statement signed by the leader of the group, Honourable Isiak Suleiman the group warned the Senator to stop creating crisis in the party where non exist.

The group queried why Senator Dino who joined the party late 2018 in asking for audit of the party finances from 2016. The same man who has been attending the state caucus meeting where the finances of the party is made know to the leaders and has never raised any objection. One will wonder why he is raising a fictitious petition against the state Executives of the party if not for a selfish ulterior motives.

Senator Dino also accused the Kogi state chairman of loosing his ward during the last Governorship election in Kogi State even when the record  shows that he also lost his Iluafon unit and Ayetoro ward 1 during the same election. It is sheer hypocrisy to demand from others what you also lack. We also recall how he turned down the offer to lead the campaign for the party simply because he lost out at the governorship primaries. It is a know fact that Senator Dino will not support the party if he is not a direct beneficiary.

We also wonder why Senator Dino Melaye think that an audit of the party finances is the solution to the false claim that the state chairman of the party is sidelining some members and running the party like a private business. What is the correlation between financial audit and  inclusiveness in this case, the group queried.

We urged Senator Dino and his unknown stakeholders group to come out clear on personal issues he has with some members of the state executives as we will no longer tolerate this act of gross insubordination from him.

If Senator Dino want to leave the party as it is been rumoured, he should  leave quietly to where they are coming from. We will not let anyone destroy the party we laboured so hard to build. Afterall,  he only came in 2018 to profit from what we built and reaped from our sweat. We will not let him or anyone no matter how high he think of himself destroy our party, the group warned.

2023: You betrayed Faleke, you are coming no where, LABO berates Dino Melaye.

Hon. Bayo Olumoko Labo has berated senator Dino Melaye over one of his post on social media that "He is coming" to run in Kogi State come 2023.

Labo, who made the statement on Thursday said Dino worked against the interest of his people(Okun) in 2015 Governorship elections and same people will work against him.

Bayo Olumoko said he is ready to spearhead the struggle to unite Okun nation against him the same manner he did to Hon. James Faleke who was at the verge of becoming the Governor from Okun land.

Labo also said the same treatment will be meted out to current Senator Smart Adeyemi who always feel threatened by the unstoppable rising political profile of Hon. James Abiodun Faleke.

"Dear brother and Friend, Dino Melaye, you worked against the Spirit of the Okun Brotherhood in us when you spearheaded unprecedented hate against Hon. James Faleke during the Audu/Faleke Project in 2015.

Yourself and your acclaimed Political Wife, Senator Smart Adeyemi always feel threatened by Faleke’s unstoppable Political rising.

I stood firmly with you at one of your most difficult Political moments. You know the story too well.

By the grace of God you’re not coming anywhere as I’m back fully to pay so many of you in the same Coin you paid James Abiodun Faleke.

Some of you may get a ticket but our people will reject you.

There was no good turn, so there will never be chance for another.

Olumoko concluded Dino has no chance anymore because Kogi State and the west senatorial Zone needs new hands.

Kogi Rep Condemned Gumi's Visit,Calls for Immediate Security reinforcement action in Okun Land

SHEIKH AHMAD ABUBAKAR GUMI’S “INVASION” OF OKUNLAND; LIKELY CONSEQUENCES ON PEACE, SECURITY AND URGENT NEED FOR KOGI STATE GOVERNMENT TO LIVE UP TO IT’S CONSTITUTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

What started, few days back in whispers, through intensive, extensive telephone conversations, messages, chats and posts on various social media networks and platforms, about the “invasion” of Okunland by the respected Islamic scholar and cleric; Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, was finally confirmed by not only the Zamfara-born religious cleric but also the Kogi State Government.

From information pieced together, Sheikh Gumi, who got to Kogi State with a large collection of heavily armed security operatives moved into some forests in Okunland to meet with Fulani herders. It was gathered that the Islamic scholar was on a purported medical mission to his kith and kin who have taken refuge in some locations within the forests of Okunland.

Regardless the genuineness and sincere motives of Sheikh Gumi’s visit to his Fulani brethren in Okunland, the timing, movement and everything about it gives room for outright suspicion, doubt, worries and anxiety. It thus appears that his visit, mission and intention were carefully, deliberately wrapped in secrecy. Expectedly, this has thrown up numerous questions, posers and enquiries amongst the good, peaceful people of Okunland. Why did the Kogi State Government not involve some of its appointees from Okunland in the visit? Was the Muslim Ummah and/or the leadership of Islamic Groups in Okunland aware? Why did Sheikh Gumi not pay homage or visit ANY traditional institution in Okunland? Did he extend same to ANY of the Islamic Leaders in Okunland? Why did Sheikh Gumi conduct the medical mission and meetings with his Fulani brethren late into the night; away from public view and scrutiny? Can the revered Islamic scholar truly convince people that his visit did not go beyond medical mission? Are there other underlining motives behind and beyond the visit?

Indeed, for any right thinking Nigerian, abreast with the fast-growing security challenges across the country, these questions and posers are not only germane, but appropriate, which requires very prompt, straight and direct responses from not only Sheikh Gumi, but the Kogi State Government and even the Federal Government.

Moreso, given the preponderance of the nefarious, rudderless and wicked activities of alleged Fulani herdsmen in, within and around communities in Okunland, it is necessary to irrevocably state that these worries are not misplaced. It is sad, shocking and painful that, in the past six years, the entire Okunland reputed and recognized as a peaceful and quiet haven has been turned into nest of sorrows, worries, fears, tears and blood. Sadly, on a daily basis, across the entire Okunland, scary incidents of kidnapping, banditry, killings, looting and destruction of farmlands and other properties by alleged Fulani herdsmen have now become regular fixtures. The corrosive and debilitating effects of the ceaseless security activities allegedly perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen on the good people of Okunland has been unimaginable. More disturbing is that, the people of Okunland, generally recognized for its industry, competencies and leadership position in agriculture; aside education, in the entire Kogi State and North Central zone, cannot go to farms anymore. Serially and severally harassed, intimidated, hounded, bruised and attacked by alleged Fulani herdsmen, the vast majority of our people, in the hinterland, have been forced to flee their farmlands and abandon farming. The negative effect of these unnecessary and painful development on commerce, trade, social and economic activities in the entire Okunland need not be over-emphasised. It is worrying, painful and shocking.

Drawing from the foregoing, it should not be surprising that the recent “visit” of Sheikh Gumi to the forests of Okunland is not only raising public outcry and criticisms, but has thrown up very genuine fears, concerns and worries amongst the good people of Okunland. Without doubt, Sheikh Gumi’s entrance into Okunland is viewed by many as an interloping action by the Zamfara-born cleric, and an injurious slap on the sensitivity of the people of Okunland. To an extent, Sheikh Gumi’s act and action is not only insolent and indecorous, but largely regrettable, injudicious and incongruous in all ramifications.

As it is, there is a growing atmosphere of anxiety, fear, doubt and apprehension amongst the good people of Okunland; at home and abroad. The Sheikh Gumi’s unmeasured, obtrusive and less-than-tactful but insidious in-road into Okunland has evoked a cacophony of unbridled doubt and unmitigated disbelieve; amongst people, about the sincerity of Federal and State government in protecting their lives and properties. Somehow, it thus appears that; going by the way and manner Sheikh Gumi made his “triumphant entry” into and carried out his activities in Okunland, his actions may have the approval of government. One is not only worried but equally disturbed that, Kogi State Government, obviously aware of the growing security concerns not only in Okunland, but across the entire state, exhibited some measure of tardiness in handling Sheikh Gumi’s visit to the affected areas, communities and forests.

On this score, one will strongly advise Kogi State Government to not only live up to its constitutional responsibilities but fulfill its promises by protecting the lives and properties of the people of Okunland and other Kogites across the length and breadth of our very dear Confluence state. To achieve this, and promptly too, the state government must evolve strategic measures and conflict-preventive mechanism that will assuage the feelings of people, re-invent trust, give hope and promote peaceful cohesion. Perhaps, it is important to stress that the people of Okunland; naturally peace loving and accommodating, cannot afford to be second or third class citizens in their own ancestral homes and farmlands. It is expected that government; Federal and state, will do everything lawful and legal to reduce, contain and limit the illegal, gruesome, wicked and over-bearing attitudes of alleged Fulani herdsmen who aside living and operating as demi-gods in Okunland, inflict unfathomable depth of attacks on defenseless people. In doing this, government must, as a matter of necessity, drop every robe of huckster and hubris disposition which encourages hubbub environment that are inimical to meaningful growth and development, as well as peace, unity and cohesion.

Popular socialite and businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, aka Obi Cubana, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for money laundering.

The Anambra-born club owner,  who arrived the headquarters of the EFCC at Jabi, Abuja, at about noon on Monday, is currently being interrogated by operatives of the commission.

Though allegations against the socialite were sketchy as of press time, a source disclosed that his case borders on alleged money laundering and tax fraud.

The source said, “Obi Cubana was arrested and brought to the EFCC headquarters on Monday afternoon over allegations of money laundering and tax fraud. He is being grilled by detectives as we speak.”

The  EFCC spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren, said he has yet to be briefed on the development.
