An Open Letter To His Excellency Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu. By Comr. Omosona T. Olakunle.

His Excellency, let me start by congratulating you on your successful election, your inauguration as the Governor of Lagos State and the inauguration of the members of your Executive Council, Your election into the seat of number one citizen in the state of excellence is no doubt a clear justification of the popular saying that "the reward for good is more good". Indeed, over the years as a former Commissioner and a true party loyalist of our great party, All Progressives Congress, you have shown gross competence and sheer readiness to government business, this has led to your massive election turn out where you floored your contenders with wide margin of votes.

His Excellency, my reason for writing you this short but concise epistle is to draw your attention back to the promises you made before, during and after your election as the governor. One of the projects you spent your time, energy and resources on which is the massive dualization of roads and evacuation of dirt across Lagos State, but sadly enough, it seems nothing tend to happen afterwards.
Sir, recently some numbers of roads were listed out for dualization leaving out the only roads that links the entire Ajegunle and Ojo which is one of the oldest roads out despite its' deplorable and bad condition.

It might interest you to know that this said road was dualized by the then Military administrator, Governor Mobolaji Johnson far back 1974, since then the road has not witnessed any major facelift or concrete dualization.

Your Excellency, it is necessary to draw your attention to the havoc rocking the said road on a daily basis, accident everyday due to the bad condition of the road, economy activities is grounded, traffic jam everyday and night.

Sir, let me bring to your notice that this is the only road that ease the people's movement sometimes ago during the dualization of Badagry Expressway because it serves as alternative root for motorist but now it's no go area because of the bad situation.
Your election into Alausa Government House was instigated by the hope the people of Amuwo Odofin had in you, especially the people of Oriade LCDA, the Aworis were not also left out as they unanimously endorsed your aspiration and casted their votes for you. It is now left for you to deliver on the mandate the constituents reposed in you.

Sir, as a youth leader, I am one of the people who mobilized youths across nooks and crannies of Oriade Kingdom to rebel and resist the emergence of your major opponent (PDP) during the primary and general elections, It is now time for you to reciprocate our loyalty and solidarity to you by quickly respond to our demands in order to save lives and businesses from being crumble and by prioritizing the welfare of constituents in Amuwo Odofin LGA/Oriade LCDA and the entire Lagosians by reconstructing the long overdued Old Ojo Road.

You'll agree with me that at this present time of economic dwindling, the residents of Oriade LCDA are expecting you to come to their rescue in terms of this.

His Excellency, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, I want to once again, commend your immense efforts at rehabilitating some roads across Lagos State, But please your attention is more needed towards many disturbing condition of some roads in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency mainly the Old Ojo Road in Oriade LCDA. Over the time, this road had been a nightmare for both the motorists and the cyclists. It has caused a lot of economic woes for both the business men/women of Amuwo Odofin federal constituency and the entire Lagos State as they were no free movement of traffic why business men and women are unable to convey their goods into their respective market place. This had hinder the enhancement of economic prosperity in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency. It would be recalled that the people of Oriade gave you their massive votes in the last general election.

Dear Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the only way you can repay the people of Amuwo Odofin Federal constituency is by constructing their roads and facilitating of projects for the enhancement of development in the constituency.

As our Governor, many of us believe that you have the capacity to put Old Ojo Road in good condition in a short period of time. I use this moment to appeal your indulgence and address the issues raised in this short write up. Our prayer are always with you and you will continue to triumph over forces of evil and agents of demons.

God bless you Sir!!

God bless Oriade LCDA!!

God bless Amuwo Odofin LGA!!!

God bless Lagos State!!!!

To whom Much Is Given, Much Is Expected.

Kabba stands still as APC campaign for Bello and Smart Adeyemi Reelection.

Kabba Town in Kogi West Senatorial District was locked down on Tuesday as Governor Bello stormed the ancient city to meet with the leaders and members of the Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency to canvass their support ahead of the next month elections.

The governor who was received by a massive crowd into the town, took time to campaign for the his re-election and that of Senator Smart Adeyemi, APC candidate for Kogi West Senatorial rerun election also to be held same date with that of the governorship election, Nov 16th.

The governor said that his reelection will be for the good of the state as he will have more time to lay legacy projects and consolidate on existing ones.

Bello urged the massive crowd to vote for Senator Smart Adeyemi for the Kogi West Senatorial district. He said the people must be weary of a man who only thinks about himself and families.

The Governor said Adeyemi has delivered well for the people of his senatorial district in the past and deserve another term at the national assembly.

Bello asked the people of the town to vote APC. He described his government as trust worthy and assured of his ability to deliver for his people, mostly the younger generation.

The governor said for the state to move at accelerated pace, APC will have to win convincingly.

Earlier, the APC candidate for Kogi west and DG Campaign of Bello/Onoja reelection bid, Senator Smart Adeyemi declared total support for the Governor.

"Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu hereby gives Mr. Governor a promise to deliver the district to the APC come November 16th, also our support for the present administration shall never dimished" Smart Said.

APPEAL COURT RULING: TRIUMPH OF TRUTH OVER EVIL PLOTS, DECEPTION, ANTI-DEMOCRATIC FORCES

Permit me to once again use this medium to congratulate the good people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, for the Appeal Court ruling of Friday, October 25th 2019, which upheld my election as your able servant in the House of Representatives.

Indeed, it is gratifying to note that the Judiciary rose above blackmail, enticing offers, ceaseless propaganda and crass intimidation by anti-democratic forces, rudderless officials and shadowy personalities to uphold, confirm; at the Elections Tribunal and Appeal Court, the mandate freely, willingly and enthusiastically given to me by the good people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency on Saturday, October 25th, 2019.

No doubt, the past nine months has been emotionally tasking, resources-consuming, energy-taking and time-wasting. It was a long period of challenge, anxiety and apprehension. Almost on a daily basis, one was treated to varied degrees, dimension and proportion of blackmail, deceit, propaganda, outright falsehood, mudslinging and character assassination. Also, one heard, saw and discovered outlandish desperation, despicable and unimaginable recourse to immoral, indecent, unethical approaches to turn the hand of justice.

However, in all of these shenanigans, as a people who have absolute trust in Almighty God, we were unruffled and unperturbed. Though worried at times, as expected being humans, our faith in God to soar above every difficulty was never in doubt. The Good Book in Psalm 34:19 declares that, "good people suffer many troubles, but the Lord saves them from all," (GNT Version). "the godly face many dangers, but the Lord saves them from each of them" (NET Version). Jeremiah 20:11 "But the Lord is with me as a mighty terrible one: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail: they shall be greatly ashamed; for they shall not prosper: their everlasting confusion shall never be forgotten." These  profound scriptures  became our anchor for inspiration, hope, faith and assurances during the long period of electoral and judicial battles.

As we moved from one stage to the other,  while others boasted in their access to funds, connections, contacts, power of incumbency and other powers, we unashamedly put our trust in the Rock of Ages. Also, one was confident that with the continuous collective prayers of the good people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, victory is assured on all sides. One was positively hopeful that regardless the evil plots, negative machinations and nefarious orchestration by certain anti-democratic forces and anti-people elements, the pendulum of victory would swing to our side.

Happily, God in His infinite mercy, through the Appeal Court, heard our respective and collaborative supplication by, once again, giving the good people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency total victory. By this judicial triumph; being the final bus-stop for litigation, all persons, individuals and groups seeking to thwart and change the peoples-will as regards our dear Federal Constituency have been defeated.

For this, I wish to give all glory, power, honour and adoration to the King of kings, Lord of lords, the ever-lasting and ever-living God for all His mercy, presence, protection and power at all times. Also, I wish to wholeheartedly express my sincere appreciation to all my Elders, Leaders, Fathers, Mothers, Brothers, Sisters, Friends, Associates, Colleagues and numerous others within and outside Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency for all their prayers, concerns, support, love and good wishes during the course of the entire electoral litigation. It is my earnest prayer that Almighty God will reward your labour of love, and raise people for you at every point of your need, Amen.

With the distraction of these needless legal battles now over, just as I have continually declared since my election on Saturday, February 23rd, 2019, as your Representative, I wish to further renew my vow to serve the good people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency with utmost focus and sincerity at all times. I shall continue to strive, with unflinching fervour and unalloyed purposefulness,  towards enhancing the growth and development of all our communities, towns and villages. I am determined to serve our dear Federal Constituency with revitalised passion and renewed commitment towards the political, economic, social and infrastructural development of our area.

At this stage, I wish to once again, as in the past, wholeheartedly extend my usual hand of fellowship to my brother and opponent;   Wemimo Jones, and all other genuine stakeholders from our Federal Constituency to join hands with us, so that decades from now, coming generations can appreciate our good legacies. The Appeal Court ruling, rather than divide or deepen the political gulf between us, should serve as a necessary fillip and timely springboard for effective and efficient collaboration in actualising further development in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency.

Finally, I most humbly  thank you all for standing by me at all times, not minding
my imperfections. Going forward, I respectfully seek and look forward to our concerted efforts towards achieving a better future for coming generations through our purposeful and productive partnership. God bless you all Amen.

LEKE ABEJIDE EXPRESSES DISSATISFACTION OVER ACTIVITIES OF SHIPPING COMPANIES.

HON. LEKE ABEJIDE, DEPUTY CHAIRMAN, HOUSE COMMITTEE ON CUSTOMS AND EXCISE HAS EXPRESS DIS-SATISFACTION OVER THE MANNER AT WHICH SHIPPING LINES OPERATES, AS IT  IS CAUSES MORE HARM TO NIGERIA ECONOMY.

Hon. Leke Abejide, member represnting Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopa Amuro Federal constituency from Kogi state, during a press conference has expressed his displeasure over the way and manner shipping lines operate in Nigeria.

In his statement he said "the Apapa gridlock was caused by MARSKLINE/APMT system hacking, I want to tell you that of there is a breakdown in entry and exit of laden trucks for just one minute the kind of gridlock that will arise will be unprecedented. But to say the system shut down for almost six weeks or more than, one can again imagine how chaotic it is now at APAPA. I As a result of this more vessels arrived while the previously discharged containers could not be moved out due to the fact that MAERSK/APMT system break down, containers were piled up.

We have many shipping lines operating in Nigeria, all these shipping companies bring in containers through importers who are being given a number of days ranging from 14-30days to clear and return the empty container to the terminal side or designated EMPTY CONTAINER BAY within the perimeter of the Port. These and many more havoc are being encountered every day by the Importers/Agents. One of the worst things been perpetrated is that they request importers to bring their empty containers to UN-ACCESSIBLE location, making trucks line up with containers on them. More also the shipping lines have refused to do the right thing by locating their empty bay outside the Port area.

To say more, most of the activities at the Port can be seen as a broad daylight robbery. Shipping line accused an Importer of owing up to Two hundred and Forty Millionaire on empty container.

These shipping line pretend as if they don't know the challenges being faced at the Port, they keep accumulating the problems at the detriment of so many businesses, to improve their own self-gain.

As a result of all their activities importer are running at a very huge loss, where none of them can boast of profits in the last four and a half years due to the unscrupulous activities of these Shipping lines, which has affected the Economy greatly.

After highlighting the problems, Hon. Leke, proffer a lasting solution to all the problems being encountered. He said he has suggested before the House Standing Committee was constituted that:

The APMT/ TICT/WACT must AUTOMATE their TDO(Terminal Delivery Order) these will be connected to their gate of entry and exit. These simply means once you have TDO to load, there is no need for human contact along the road or at the gate for such trucks to load. This will enable constant movement for trucks with valid tickets. Once the truck gets to the gate, the ticket will be placed at the entrance and it automatically opens for entry. Any truck without a valid ticket TDO, have no reason to move to go close to the Port area after discharging empty containers at SHIPPING LINE EMPTY CONTAINERS BAY, which is 100kilometers away from the port.

Hon. Leke Abejide also appeal to the Federal Government of Nigeria to give more priorities to road constructions, especially the roads within the Port areas, which should be handed to tested and trusted companies with the mandate to  deliver with two months to avoid the trauma that Port users pass through while plying the road where the nation earns her seconds largest revenue.

$1.5BILLION AJAOKUTA STEEL REVIVAL MOU enough evidence for Kogi People to vote BELLO/CEDO-Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi

The 2nd runner-up during the last Kogi West Senatorial Contest and Candidate of Africa Democratic Congress, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has revealed that the success of the milestone achievement in the age-long struggle for the revival and completion of the AJAOKUTA Steel is enough reason for Kogi People to vote BELLO/CEDO by November 16th, 2019. Omoluabi says that the courage, ability and political will demonstrated by President Muhammadu Buhari to break the decades of jinx that has made the largest industrial site in Africa not to work is one that deserves a reciprocal kind gesture .

Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi made the comments while commending the President for being so sensitive to job creation, industrialisation and economic emancipation of the people, he said it is therefore important for Kogi People to show sincere appreciation and loyalty for this great feat by voting Governor Yahaya Bello and his running mate Chief Edward David Onoja  during the November 16th Gubernatorial election.

*For a President who is not a Kogite to travel to Russia to secure an investment deal of almost $1.5billion is to say the least the most audacious way to demonstrate love for us as Kogites, the investment when completed will accommodate direct and indirect jobs for more than fifty thousand young people in various fields, this is massively unprecedented and hugely unimaginable. As Kogites, we will be the biggest and direct beneficiaries of this monumental investment. The Russian MoU has earned Kogi the biggest ever industrial investment and the least of what is expected of us is to reciprocate this gesture with our votes during the coming election. Kogi People must not miss the opportunity of earning the President's confidence and love and the most obvious way to do this is to vote his preferred candidate, Governor Yahaya Bello and Chief Edward David Onoja. Doing so will bring honour to the President and quicken his desire to turn Kogi around. We must also commend the unflinching loyalty, committed support and contagious love Governor Yahaya Bello has shown to the President, Governor Yahaya Bello has been unwavering, he's been pragmatic in loyalty and he is an ardent believer of the APC manifesto, President Buhari's objectives and all of these brought this great feat*  Omoluabi says.

Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi however charged the people of Kogi State to remain in the mainstream government in order to draw development, projects and attention of the federal government. He says the easiest and most practicable way to go about it is to vote GYB/CEDO on the 16th of November.

Omoluabi says Politic is at the heart of development, and as a people who desire development, there must be deliberate political decisions, away from the usuals, but a well mapped out position and voting patterns tailored towards attracting development and decent wellbeing, he advocated that Kogi People must go the way of APC for the November 16th, for the good of all

GYB's IDAH HONOUR, PROJECTS COMMISSIONING AND TUMULTUOUS CROWD, ATTESTATION TO HIS ACCEPTABILITY IN IGALA LAND AND A SIGN OF AN UNASSAILABLE VICTORY-Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi

The second runner-up for 2019 Kogi West Senatorial election and Candidate of African Democratic Congress, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi  has ascribed the conferement of a senior Igala Chieftaincy title on Governor Yahaya Bello and his running mate, Chief Edward David Onoja by the Attah of Igala to the quality of projects executed in Igala land by the Yahaya Bello led administration in the last three and half years. The Senatorial Candidate says the commitment of Governor Yahaya Bello to electrification and infrastructural development in the area is indeed commendable even amidst lean resources.

The statement which was contained in a press release duly signed and made available to the newsmen also says the unequalled development of Kogi East by the current administration earned the Governor and his Deputy such a chieftaincy title. The statement also listed projects like Rural electrification such as Omala villages electrification, roads construction such as Ankpa Township road, Umomi-Idah Raod, construction of infrastructure such as Igala Unity House, Kogi State College of Health Technology, Idah and the flag off of the historic Idah-Agenebode bridge construction and several others.

Omoluabi says these projects are key to social economic and wellbeing of the people of Igala land. He says the Governor has demonstrated unusual courage and dedication to balancing Projects distribution across the state. He says the bold step of Governor Yahaya Bello to stamp out ethnicity,  division, bigotry and chauvinism is a clear demonstration of his unquenchable thirst for unity, oneness and progress. He says his re-election on the 16th of November will obviously end any kind of propensity for ethnicity and division that have characterised the polity and governance of Kogi state since creation.
I was at Idah myself,  I saw huge show of love by Igala people, I saw undeniable acceptability of the Governor and his Deputy by Igala people, I saw commitment to good  governance and development of every part of the state by the Governor which is a strong assurance to me that Yahaya Bello's leadership is one geared towards a United Kogi State. With the projects commissioned and others seen along our way, it is now obviously undeniable that GYB has his footprints in Igala land. It is also a clear fact that his Deputy, Chief Edward David Onoja has indeed worked assiduously for the development of Igala land. I am therefore confident that he will win his challenger landslide even in Kogi East. I commend the Attah of Igala, Agabaidu Ameh Oboni II for being courageous, rescillient and forthright in his unflinching support for a non Igala contestant simply on the alter of good governance, this is indeed a demonstration of Attah's love for good governance and his disaffection for ethnic frivolities. I am therefore more confident that GYB/CEDO continuity is a done deal* Omoluabi says.

The tumultuous crowd as witnessed during the historic visit to Idah, the traditional seat of Igala Kingdom can't be for fun, their enthusiasm, energy and visible expression of happiness cannot be taken for another thing but love and readiness to deliver the GYB/CEDO ticket for November 16th election. The outpouring of love and support also put an end to insinuation that Igalas will vote their son *I know a little thing about Igala land, unlike the other ethnic nationalities, Igala is the only place where non son of the soil can live and become part of them forever without discrimination, examples abound of people who were originally not from Igala land but raised there and have today either been elected or holding positions of authority. Recent history has shown that an average Igala man loves anyone that come to stay in his land and treats him/her as brother/sister,  the love shown to the Governor has now shown that they appreciate good governance, it has shown that they are a mature, exposed and cosmopolitan race. This is the confidence that November 16th election will be about history of good governance of the two parties, history of readiness of the two candidates to promote development and demonstration of tact, will and capacity that will determine their votes, and Governor Yahaya Bello is far ahead in these areas* Omoluabi says.

He urged the people of Kogi East not to be deceived by ethnicity and division that the PDP is known for, he encouraged the people to live above sentiment but face development and unity the state currently enjoy. He charged them to support the total enthronement of Youths in governance, he says young people are not guided by tribe and tongue but best practices and progress anywhere they are

Kogi governorship election: Audu/Faleke group join forces with Yahaya Bello

AHEAD of the Kogi State governorship election slated for November 16, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress and incumbent governor of the state, Yahaya Bello, has received the political structure of the late former governor, Prince Abubakar Audu, and member of the House of Representatives, Hon. James Faleke.

The event, which occurred on Thursday at the glasshouse of the Government House, Lokoja, witnessed a large turnout of supporters of the late political icon who declared their support for Governor Bello’s re-election.

In his remarks, Hon. Faleke, the leader of the group and former deputy governorship candidate of APC in the 2015 elections, noted that the day was unique and that the people at the event were representatives of the group from the three senatorial districts in the state.

He stated that they were happy to be part of the event, adding that they were neither forced nor financially influenced as falsely peddled in some sections of the media.
Hon. Faleke said his political leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, taught him that those that helped you to win an election or were with you when you lose should not be left behind.

He said they were here because they believed in and loved their state, adding that they had learnt the fact that power belongs to God.

He said they believe that Governor Bello was qualified to deliver a better future for Kogi State, noting that both houses were one but only decided to stay back and watch.

He noted that the PDP government, which he said had ruled the state for 16 years “without any visible evidence of progress”, were sent packing by the APC in 2015 under the leadership of the late Prince Abubakar Audu.

Faleke noted that PDP’s 16 years in government was mistakes galore, noting that the party has nothing it could use to campaign against Governor Bello in this electioneering season.

He pointed out that although the Bello administration had also made a few mistakes which the governor has agreed to and has corrected, he (Governor) would win and move the state to the next level.
While assuring Senator Smart Adeyemi, the APC candidate in the Kogi West senatorial election rerun, that his election would be a walkover, he told the Audu/Faleke team that they must learn to forgive and move on.

Hajiya Halimat Alfa, another leader of the Audu/Faleke structure from Kogi East, in her remarks affirmed that those who were peddling the Igala agenda were selfish leaders who want to retain power within their family.

She said that Governor Bello, through his gestures to the people of Kogi East, has clearly shown that he was actually pursuing the actual Igala progressive agenda.

The party leader noted that the Igala Agenda peddled by those in the opposition was a deceit, noting that Governor Bello was the only conveyor of the Igala agenda that meant well for the people of Kogi East

Governor Bello in his address said that no building can stand without its foundation, saying that he would never cease to pay tribute to those who laid the party’s foundation in the state.

He noted that the late Prince Audu and those that were with him were the founding fathers and members of the party, and he inherited the structure from them

Governor Bello while thanking Honourable Faleke and Hajiya Halimat Alfa for their large heart, noted that great leaders do not fight to the finish but always create an avenue for reconciliation
The Governor also opined that when leaders reconcile after a long period of misunderstanding, the people of the state should expect great things to unfold.

He noted that Kogi State has moved beyond ethnicity, class differences and inequality, adding that his government was building a new Kogi State that is fair, equal and just to all.

The Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Suleiman Abdullahi and former Governor of Bauchi State, Barrister Abdullahi Mohammed, who both spoke at the event assured the Governor of victory as well as their staunch support in actualising it.

They thanked the leadership of the Audu/Faleke group for choosing the people and the party above selfish interests, noting that their action was a further assurance of victory at the polls.
