MY DEMOCRACY DAY MESSAGE TO IJUMU CONSTITUENTS

This is to congratulate all Nigerians, Kogites and Ijumites in particular for witnessing yet another beautiful Democracy Day. Its my hope that we shall live to witness many of it kind in years to come. Wishing us God's divine protection in good health and peace of mind.

I have taken a vow with Ijumu electorates that giving me the privilege to represent us the State House of Assembly will change our destiny for good. Ijumu shall be classified amongst constituencies of pride by the special grace of God.

Democracy Day is regarded as the beginning of a new (political) year. Its my prayer that by this time next year I shall be celebrating the beginning of a new thing in the political history of our beloved Ijumu Kingdom.

Endeavour to pray for my success as we journey through yet another rigorous and tasking elective political year.

Finally, I pray that the favour of Allah makes our journey here and hereafter easy, His grace makes our life great, His mercy makes our life exceptional. May Almighty Allah always ease our sojourn now and always.

Happy celebration of Democracy Day.

*Otunba Shuaib Ipinmisho, Aspirant, Ijumu State Constituency, Kogi State House of Assembly.*

2019 DEMOCRACY DAY, HOPE ALIVE OR COMPLETELY DEAD?

I joined all well meaning Nigerians, to celebrate the survival of 3 year Democracy day of hunger, confusion, unemployment, insecurity, no or quarter salary, under this clueless, low in thinking APC government that have impoverished Nigerians and taken us many steps backward as once, a united Nation.

A government, in an attempt to truncate the labour of our fallen and living heroes has chosen the choice of  attacking every Democratic institutions in the country.

Its also important to note where we are coming from and how far this unfortunate government has further destabilize and divides us along tribal and religious lines.
There is little or No hope that things will get better before 2019.

I salute Nigerians especially my Kogi brothers and Sisters for their patients, long sufferings and endurance of the pains this vision less APC Government has inflicted on us at all levels of governance.

Their so called change has brought more agony and regrets to Nigerians, especially with the high level of incessant killings across the country, and their calculated attempt to truncate our hard earned Democracy.

I pray God help Us ALL and grant us the enablement to resist every attempt to return us back to military rule.

Democracy must be built through open societies that shared information that move Nations forward, When there is information, there is enlightenment. When there is debate and dialogs there are solutions.

When there is No separation of power, absence of rule of law, No accountability, then, is abuse, corruption, subjugation and indignation will inevitable be prevalent.

Finally, I pray the government of APC will allow our PVC to speak for Us same way it worked for them, so we can all again restore back our lost but desired  peaceful, united and working Nigeria, we must get our PVC and vote out APC and their cruel, inhuman government at all levels. If we desire a Nigeria without discrimination, then we must not discriminate against anyone in the process of building the country of our dream .
If we desire a Democratic Nigeria, then democracy must become a means as well as an end.

Happy Democracy Day my people, as we prepare to change this awkward change come 2019.

I write as a patriotic, concerned, NOT  LAZY NIGERIAN YOUTH and my Name is Tunde Akanmidu a.k.a *ARISE 2019*

IGALA UNITY HOUSE RENOVATION: AMB. OJIMA MAKE A MOUTH WATERING DONATION

It was a gathering of who is who in Kogi East as Igala sons and daughters converge on KSU Auditorium to raise funds for renovation of their unity house in Anyigba.  Among the bigwigs that attended the auspicious occasion was  the Most acceptable candidate in the history of Idah federal constituency electioneering bid, President/CEO vividgroup and founder/president of Good Shepherd Medical Centre Anyigba, the biggest and most equipped ultra modern hospital in the land, Amb. Ojima Friday Michael.

The Auditorium went into early rapture as he was called upon to make his donation as the sound of *TOO MUCH MONEY* rented the air for several minutes. He donated the sum of Two million Five hundred thousand Naira only (N2,500,000) to support the sand and cement for the project which is like two load of Dangote trailer. In addition to that, he promised of taking the full responsibility of the signage which he will import from China and the  digital signage will be design and constructed by the best hands in China and a digitised world class real-time internet CCTV cameras 🎥 with solar system to power those equipment and it will be supplied by his company VIVID GLOBAL.

He equally noted that, Igala race is blessed with successful sons and daughters and they always succeed in everything they embarked upon, that makes him believed that the renovation project is a done deal.

Engr Friday concluded by promising that he will not disappoint them if higher responsibility is placed in his hands as his vast tech experience will be of a great advantage to first  the people of his constituency, Igala Land, kogi state and indeed Nigeria at large.

It was speakers after speaker and donations after donation but Amb Michael stole the show..

Account For N10 Trillion Stolen By Your Leaders, PDP Tells APC …Says Party Synonymous With Deceit, Failure, Hardship

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) challenges the Presidency and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to immediately account for the over N10 trillion public fund allegedly stolen by APC leaders and members of the Buhari Presidency cabal.

The APC and Presidency have been playing saint and pointing fingers while their officials are having field day frittering trillions of naira to finance their opulent lifestyles and political interests, even under the watch of the African Union (AU) Anti-Corruption Champion.

The PDP asks the Presidency to address Nigerians on the leaked Memo detailing corrupt oil contracts to the tune of N9 trillion ($25billion dollars) at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, which are under President Muhammadu Buhari’s direct supervision as Minister of Petroleum Resources.

The PDP also challenges the APC and the Presidency to come clear on the widely reported stealing of N1.1 trillion (USD 3.5bn) worth of crude oil by APC interests operating with seven ghost companies.

This is in addition to the looting from the Treasury Single Account (TSA) evidenced in the reported stealing of N10 billion National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS)’s account in the TSA, as well as revelation of the frittering of fresh N25 billion under questionable “deals”.

Similarly, the PDP demands that the APC and the Presidency address Nigerians on the widely reported stealing of N18 billion Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) intervention fund as well as the source of the N671 million allegedly stolen from the APC account by some of its national officers.

Furthermore, the PDP wants the Presidency and the APC to explain to Nigerians why no serious panel of enquiry has been set up to address the issues of abuse of rights, extra-judicial executions, killings and bloodletting in various parts as catalogued by various international bodies.

The PDP notes that the APC has become synonymous with violence, deceit, hardship, hunger and starvation and can no longer be trusted as a vehicle of national cohesion, economic prosperity and the unity of Nigerians.

Breaking: Plot To Remove Kogi Speaker Thickens

Report reaching THE LEAKAGES confirmed there is an ongoing plot to remove Kogi State Speaker, Prince Kolawole Mathew.
The underground plot to get him ousted is said to be part of 2019 political scheming.

The Chief of Staff, Edward Onoja and former Senator Smart Adeyemi are said to be championing the removal of Mr. Speaker in no distance time. Hon. Ade Omofaiye, member currently representing Ijumu LGA and Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu House of Reps Aspirant who was also a former aide to the senator has been penciled down for the speakership position.

The speakership is to serve as compensation to Ade Omofaiye who will soon be forced to abort his federal house of reps bid for Sen. Smart Adeyemi Senatorial bid since both from the same Ijumu LGA can not be handed the party APC House Of Reps and Senatorial ticket for the 2019 election at the same time.

Majority party members believed it will be disastrous and suicidal for the party APC to make Sen. Smart Adeyemi and Hon. Ade Omofaiye who are from the same LGA the party flagbearers for KogiWest Senatorial and Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency elections respectively.

Kogi State Speaker, Prince Kolawole Mathew who is unaware of the plot is said be fully relax dining and winning with both the Chief of Staff and the former Senator.

The plot to remove Prince Kola may also be connected with the role he played in the unsuccessful recall of Sen. Dino Melaye where the Speaker was said to have collected millions for the excecise but failed to deliver.

Some quarters are also peddling rumors that the Speaker might have unknowingly expose his desperate ambition to use the state government arsenals to win his reelection bid by all means despite his deminishig popularity in Kabba/Bunu LGA where he currently represents.

The Speaker desperate move is aimed at retaining his Speakership position after his re-election with hopes of becoming the Governor after Gov. Bello’s second term.

Details soon.

Why Nigerians should runaway from Buhari(Part 1)

Few days ago, I was reading about Prof.. Ambrose Folorunsho Ali and Chief Lateef Jakande as governors of Bendel and Lagos state respectively. From 1979 -83 Alli built 600 schools,  abolish school fees, established college of educations, teachers college in  Ekiadolor near benin, Agbo, Warri and 3 other polytechnics, he also started the Bendel State University which is now Ambrose Ali University. He went further to establish roads, hospitals and created thousands of employment.

On the other side, Chief Jakande became the governor of Lagos State in 1979 and immediately focus on the poor and less privilege in Lagos by building 30,000 apartment which you can still see in Amuwo Odofin, Ipaja, Dolphin Estate, Epe, Surulere,  Ikorodu,  Badagry, Abule-Nla, Iba and so on. He went further to build schools in all the neighbourhood and provide free education.

Jakande also went much further to establish Lagos State University  (LASU) , built 23 health care across the state and completion of General Hospitals in Gbagada and Ikorodu.
Jakande also built luxury apartments for Lagos  State Government, open up areas like Lekki Pennisula, VGC and the likes. He was also very successful in constructing roads and job creation.

Jakande started the metro line rail project to facilitate mass transit(this project was truncated by the Buhari lead military regime)

In 1983 General  Buhari seize the power and truncated our democracy. Buhari sentence Prof Ali to 100 years imprisonment because he accuse him of taking government fund even though he only built one small house in Ekpoma all his life. On the other side, Mr Jakande also get his own jail term.

This is how Nigeria development was truncated and stopped growing.
Nigeria will have been much better and developed if Buhari did not truncate our democracy.

Wake up Nigeria. Get your PVC and send him back to Daura

Why Nigerians should run away from Buhari(Part 2)

Nigeria is acclaimed to be the highest producer of Yam in the world.
The middle belt produce over 50% of the entire yam produce by Nigeria and Benue/Taraba  produce over 4m pieces.
Other state in the middle belt contribute huge percentage to our food chain in Nigeria.

Prof. Wole Soyinka stated at the African Drum Festival that Nigeria is sliding into food scarcity if care is not taking regarding security in the middle belt

Today, the middle belt is producing less than 25 percent of what they produce.

Why is the production going down
1. Fear of fulani herdsmen on thier farm land
2  Displacement by act of terrorism
3. Fear of death on farmland
4. Destruction of thier crops and farmland
5. High insecurity.

Is Nigeria gradually sliding into food scarcity?

I read a publication few weeks ago and it say that the present administration has done well In agriculture. How can you say you have done well when ppl are afraid to go to the farm?

Nigerians need to act fast. Get your PVC, send him back to Daura, save ur community from starvation

Democracy Day: Don’t Address Nigerians, PDP Tells Buhari, APC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) not to address Nigerians on the occasion of the 2018 Democracy Day on Tuesday.
The PDP maintains that in the last three years, such addresses had contained deceits, falsifications and unfulfilled promises.
The party notes that Nigerians have become frustrated and despondent by the magnitude of lies and deception told by the Buhari Presidency and the APC and would prefer to spend the next twelve calendar months contending with such past deceptions than fresh falsifications.
PDP adds that the Buhari Presidency and the APC had, since assuming power in 2015, violated all tenets of democracy, trampled on citizens rights and should not be associated with democracy under any guise whatsoever.
Indeed, this administration should not come close to the emblem of democracy, as such would be an unpardonable spat on the faces of millions of suppressed Nigerians and the graves of victims of extra-judicial executions under this administration, as catalogued by international bodies including, Transparency International (TI), Amnesty International (AI) and even the United States Department of State.
Instead of celebrating Democracy, Nigerians are today groaning in regret for electing an administration that has completely turned against them, engaging in clampdown with utmost impunity, setting aside our constitutional provisions and desecrating all democratic established institutions.
We ask: How can Nigerians celebrate Democracy Day when the rights of citizens are daily trampled and they no longer enjoy their freedom to politically associate and aspire, as was the order under the PDP rule?
Where is democracy when government tends towards military fiat: where citizens are wantonly arrested, locked up and dehumanized just for expressing political opinions considered to be at variance with views held those in power?
Where is democracy when opposition members have become endangered species and considered enemies of the state without any just cause; Where dissenting voices are daily harassed, arrested, handcuffed and arraigned on trumped-up charges, just to emasculate opposition?
Where is democracy when our National Assembly, the very bastion of our democracy, is under siege; where federal lawmakers are daily blackmailed, hounded, harassed, intimidated, detained and dehumanized; where strange elements invade the hallowed chambers of the Senate, threatened our senators and forcefully cart away the mace, yet nobody has been prosecuted?
Where is democracy when court judges are arrested in the middle of the night by agents of state; top government officials engage in actions and speeches that promote division, hatred and bloodletting; when journalists and media houses are being harassed and intimidated and our nation, in the last three years, ranking among the most hostile to free press?
Nigerians now look back with nostalgia to the 16 years of the PDP, years when government operated with conscience, where democracy was nurtured and the rights, freedom, happiness and prosperity of all citizens were guaranteed and upheld.
Above all,  the PDP salutes the courage and resilience of Nigerians in the face of despotism, drive towards anarchy and totalitarianism.
We are collectively strengthened by the fact that this year’s Democracy Day signals the reinvigorating of that democratic march by the citizens to end APC’s misrule and abuse of our rights.
Nigerians must therefore, use this year’s occasion to reinforce their commitment to rescue our nation by restoring democratic rule on the platform of the repositioned PDP, come 2019.

About 80 percent of Kogi workers haven’t received salary in 20 months – ULC

The United Labour Congress (ULC) has warned Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state to stop politicizing the payment of salaries to workers, lamenting that “almost eighty per cent of our workers in Kogi State have not collected their salaries between between 4 and 20 months under the present administration.
Kogi State Chairman of ULC, Comrade Simeon Opaluwa, in a statement on Friday, decried the lackadaisical attitude of the Kogi state government in handling issues of workers’ salaries and pensions, stressing that many workers have not been paid for several months.
Opaluwa maintained that the current predicament of workers and pensioners in the state has caused untold hardship, warning that the ULC will no longer tolerate government’s insensitivity to workers’ welfare.
According to him, “Workers in the state are passing through unbearable hardship under this government. it is criminal by this government having collected resources accrued the state for all the months the workers are been owed.”
The labour movement in the state further lambasted the government for accusing the previous administration in the state as having plunged the state into debt as reason for the inability of the current administration to meet up with its obligation of paying salary and pensions.
He urged the Bello government in the state to play its part in the payment of salaries rather than engaging in buck-passing, an action ULC described as unnecessary.
The Labour union hinted that it would soon mobilize workers against the state government if the current situation is not quickly addressed

Threats Against Wike: PDP Vows to Leave Nothing to Chance.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the outburst by the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government that it would have dragged in Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike, but for his constitutional immunity, confirms the fears that government wants to silence the opposition.

PDP condemns in very strong terms, the further threats against Governor Wike by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who arrogantly dismissed the governor’s allegation that there was a plot by the Federal Government to kill him in a crowd.

It is shocking that instead of calling for an investigation into the serious revelation, the Federal Government resorted to siege mentality to scare the governor, ostensibly to cover up the severity of the allegation.

Nigerians will recall that the PDP had earlier raised the alarm over plots to harass, intimidate, implicate and orchestrate untoward situations like assassinations, unexplained accidents, inexplicable "armed robbery” attacks, high profile abduction and sudden disappearances of opposition leaders and members.

The PDP, therefore, invites all Nigerians and the international community to note this threat against Governor Wike, as well as the action and inaction of the APC-led Federal Government, as we are not prepared to leave anything to chance.

EDUCATION AND THE GENERATION-NEXT

When I was growing up I had no opportunity of attending a private school from primary to the University. Good enough all the public schools I attended were conducive, equipped and up to standards in all ramifications.

After many years of leaving school, I recently had reason to conduct an investigative visit into the state of the schools and I'm yet to recover from the rot, decadence and unfriendly learning environment I met(No attempt to play politics is intended and no government or person is targeted). I took a decision from then that when I get to the Senate by the grace of God, I will invest into public schools to make them attractive, including sustainable Corporative and entrepreneurial scheme for the teachers.
This is important because quality of education and moral development have been debased and abandoned in our society. A clear answer to the reason for the current youth unemployability, moral decadence and insecurity.
While we await the opportunity through the support of everyone, I have considered palliative measures within my humble capacity as the best immediate personal intervention.

Our movement therefore began the distribution of exercise books in all public schools in Kogi West.  Today our team visited St Mary Primary School, St Joseph Primary school, St Andrews Primary School 2 and Methodist Primary School all in Kabba Town of Kabba-Bunu where over five hundred pupils were provided with the writing material.

I will be formally doing the Presentation to the pupils in the primary school I attended, St Joseph LEA Primary School, Itedo-Isanlu, Yagba East.  I have contacted my headmaster who taught me about three decades ago, Pa Olorunsola, he will join me in this noble assignment to inspire, educate and motivate the pupils who are surely the leaders of the generation-next.

Our education development agenda starts now no matter what happens tomorrow.

Thank you all but I Will Not Be Shut Down, Dino Assure Nigerians.

Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye has released a statement to thank Nigerians particularly Kogites and members of the National Assembly for standing by him all through his travail in the hands of the Nigerian Police.

While thanking Kogi West Constituents for aborting the satanic recall agenda allegedly sponsored by the Kogi State Govenrmnt, the Senator assured Nigerians that he will continue to speake the truth to power and will never cease to fight for the poor masses despite going through hell in the past few weeks.

Excerpts

THANK YOU NIGERIANS

1. Someone once said, that, rock bottom is good solid ground and a dead-end street is just a place to turn around. In the last few weeks, I have been taken to the good solid ground at the rock bottom and they couldn’t go further. I have been brought to the dead-end street but with you standing by my side, I have turned around and bounced back to the chagrin of those who sought to seal my lips from speaking out against tyranny, politics of oppression and blackmail. They, unleashed an endless barrage of physical, psychological, metaphysical and emotional torture and assault on me, but, through the power of the Most High, and you the good people of Nigeria, we have once again, seen the triumph of truth over lies and good over evil.
2. It was Edmund Burke who was quoted as saying that when bad men combine, the good must associate; else they will fall one by one, … in a contemptible struggle. I am of all men, a blessed man, to have courageous and dependable people like you as my fellow soldiers in the struggle to free us from the shackles of political strongholds and tyranny. It is to you and my most wonderful and ever knowledgeable people of Kogi State, especially Kogi West, that I owe my deepest gratitude. You stood by me against the state and your own ‘best political self-interest’.
3. The state unleashed its raw power on me and released a 200 man-strong fully armed policemen - on a man without a knife nor a bullet. It did this because I called injustice by its name and called for accountability. For this they sought to break my spirit and destroy me permanently. In their moment of reign, I was fully shackled. With my hands tied to my back, and hurled into a dark solitary confinement waiting for the butchers knife, you, my people stood by me. You came against a raging fire and stood up against tyranny, lies, filthy lucre, injustice, persecution and greed. While in the dark and unable to fight for myself, they sought to take my mandate, which you had freely given to me. But you answered back and quenched deceit in its wake. You stood resolute and unflinching and defended your mandate to me. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. In their attempt to break me, they have made me stronger.
4. To you my indefatigable leaders; my irremovable President of the Senate, a man of immeasurable vision for Nigeria and true fighter for the enthronement of true democracy and the rule of law, Sen. (Dr.) Abubakar Bukola Saraki. The fearless Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, I thank you both for your steadfastness in the defence of the Nigerian Constitution and the enthronement of the Rule of Law, justice and equity and the emasculation of anti-democratic forces and tyranny everywhere in Nigeria. I am eternally grateful to you.
5. To the entire National Assembly Membership, especially my colleagues in the Senate, I am eternally indebted to you for not playing politics but standing courageously against oppression and terror. You have shown yourself leaders on whom Nigeria’s hope for tomorrow can be assured.
6. To you our governors, ministers, my dear Okun people and leaders, the National Chairman and Kogi State Executive of the PDP, leaders of the Diplomatic Corps, opinion leaders, Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN, Chief Ricky Tarfa SAN, human rights lawyers and activists, and all my well-wishers and lovers of democracy in Nigeria; the Christian and Muslim Community, all of you that visited me in the National Hospital, after I was injured and subsequently detained at the hospital. I thank you all for your steadfastness in the defence of due process and the rule of law. I also thank you for your courage and solidarity.
7. Our ever foresighted and courageous civil society leadership, the media, leaders of thought across the country, our hard-working youth for whom I will give my last blood, our loving mothers and sisters, I lack words to express to you my profound gratitude for the unbreakable chord of love that binds me to you through thick and thin. You have strengthened my resolve and hardened my flesh against those who seek to devour and make meat of me. You have once again proven to me the axiom in the saying that “in prosperity, our friends know us; in adversity, we know our friends." I am very grateful. For your sake, I remain unbowed.
8. I know many of you worry about my safety and life in this new dispensation where life is no longer sacred in Nigeria. But do not be troubled. My bond of love for you, my good people, makes it impossible for me to consider my self-risk, safety, comfort or opportunity in my unflinching commitment to stand up for you, to stand up for truth and if necessary die for the truth and the emancipation of our people from the chains of poverty and oppression. Though they raise spurious allegations against me, bear false witness against me, though they seek to frighten me and lure me into their bounty of evil, I will fear no foe.
9. Yes, my traducers and torturers wish that I keep quiet; though they seek to seal my lips, to silence my voice forever, I remain ever more resolute and committed. I am committed to this cause for which I am a politician; the cause of the down trodden, to speak truth to power and stand against oppression and injustice. On these issues there will be no compromise. I owe no apologies and I tender none.
10. Like I have always said, you speak the truth, you die, you don’t speak the truth, you die. I have chosen to speak the truth, dead or alive. Rev. Martin Luther King Jnr., once said, “Cowardice asks the question - is it safe? Expediency asks the question - is it politics? Vanity asks the question - is it popular? But conscience asks the question - is it right? And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular; but one must take it because it is right.”
11. To my people, I promise you this and this only. I have taken my position, I will not hold back, I will not hold my peace, I will not be shut down, neither will I shut-up, not as long as injustice and falsehood continues to reign, as long as I will live, I will not bow to Baal.
12. May the Almighty continue to keep you all and be your bulwark until victory is assured. Once again, I thank you all so much.
13. God bless you.
14. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

CURBING THE EXCESSES NIGERIA POLICE TO SAVE THE COUNTRY’S DEMOCRACY

Justice Helpline Foundation has over time observed with dismay the excesses of Nigeria Police in the performance of its duties and this is due to the enormity of its responsibilities in view of the indiscretions of a few bad eggs within its rank and file.
Events of the recent past in our democratic process have raised a lot of issues which is really a source of concern because of what it portend for our democracy.
It is obvious that in order to get things right in conformity with international best practices, the Police Act need urgent amendment. This is to correct flaws in the Act and make the implementation of the provisions of the Act less prone to manipulation and abuse.
The following proposed changes if effected in the Act will in our humble and informed view be of immense benefit to the Democratic process in the Country.
The duties of the Police should be restricted to crime prevention, detection, investigation after which the Justice Ministry will take over.

The implication of is the total removal of prosecutoral powers from the Police with same transferred to the Justice Ministry for effectiveness and efficiency
Aggressive recruitment of lawyers into the Justice Ministry in the States and at the Federal level.
Increasing the scope of work of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to take over certain duties presently engaged in by Police. This includes:

Security of political office holders and other Very Important Personalities (VIP)
Security of Bank premises and other related activities. Enactment and review of enabling laws to empower NSCDC license private security firms under stringent condition  to be armed for them to be contracted to provide security to individuals and Corporate bodies.

The aforementioned proposal was put together after a thorough appraisal of the challenges the Police currently face as a result of inadequate personnel in terms of numerical strength in a situation where the same Police is saddled with a plethora of statutory duties that has obviously overwhelmed it.
This has paved way for manipulation of the criminal justice administration system by unscrupulous individuals and groups to the detriment of the nation's democracy with negative consequences for the rule of law and the general wellbeing of Nigerians.
The National Assembly should as a matter of urgency put necessary machinery in motion to effect appropriate amendments to the Police Act.
Justice Helpline Foundation in accordance with its avowed commitment to the supremacy of the rule of law in the Country will relentlessly pursue every legitimate means to ensure every impunity and danger to our democracy is fought and defeated.
For now, the excesses of the Police epitomizes present and immediate danger to our democracy and all hands must be on deck to correct this obvious anomaly.

Yagba For Senate 2019 Initiatives Never Pitch Tent With Any Aspirant

The Yagba For Senate 2019 Initiatives has debunked rumours gaining ground in some online and social media that the Convener of the group has pitched tent with Barr. Babatunde Irukera who seems to be aspiring for the post of senator in the forthcoming 2019 election.
The Convener Comr. Omosonao T. Olakunle yesterday, warned babies politicians against spreading falsehood capable of truncating our collective decision in agitating for our great constituency (YAGBA) to desist from doing so.
The convener said he have  been hearing rumours from all angles that the agenda for the entire Yagba son's and daughter's is mainly for Irukera, describing the rumoured as an outright falsehood and mischievous propaganda, allegedly engineered by some cheap comrades and enemies of Yagba land who never wanted Yagba person's to become the next senator that will represent Kogi west senatorial district come 2019, we want to state it clear that we are fully aware of their evil plans but God Almighty will definitely vindicate the good people of Yagba land at the appropriate time and the time is 2019.
According to the convener, “the rumoured pitching tent with Irukera is not true and is highly ridiculous for a reasonable person to think in such direction because how can an organization that is been created for the interest of the entire Yagba land be pitching tent with an aspirant who have not really declare his interest either he will contest or not, whereby we have numerous son's and daughter's of Yagba who have signified their interest publicly, beside Yagba for Senate 2019 initiatives is mainly for the unity of the whole Yagba irrespective of local government or party affiliation,
Moreover, it is too early for any pressure group who stands to fight for the interest of the masses to pitch tent with any aspirant while party has not really given modality for their primaries election.

However, we want to state it clear for record purpose that the organization, Yagba for Senate 2019 initiatives only gives recognition mainly to those aspirant who have indicated interest to run for the senatorial seat come 2019 e.g Rt. Hon. Clarence Olafemi, Engr. Tajudeen Bisimilahi, Chief (Dr) Williams Toyin Akanle, Chief (Mrs) Ibikunle Adedoyin Eshanumi, Dr. Isaac Oludoyi, Hon. Sunday Steven Karimi, and Hon. T.J Faniyi as aspirants who has publicly established their interest to run for the senatorship seat come 2019, but we can never be weighed down by the propaganda orchestrated by enemies of yagba, who's plans is to soil the good name, the good start of the organization, to also discredit the convener and cause trouble.
“It is clear that some of our members has already devoid from the initiatives or maybe having personal interest but we can't judge the character of thousands with just one man attitude, all I know is that the man Omosona T. Olakunle has a job to do and I am urging every leaders to please support me in order for us to be successful.
“This is the man that has organized programmes in order to chant way forward for the interest of Yagba land, someone who has been working day and night sharing the communique across Kogi west senatorial district, Lagos and party head quarters in Abuja without thinking of the risk involved and I am not going to abandon this project until Yagba is successful.

On these note, I am using this medium to appeal for others constituency to please replicate the love Yagba people has showed to them before and during the last recall process of Senator Dino Melaye because when we talk in one voice we all win in the same one voice.

Long Live Yagba Federal Constituency!

AN OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR YAHAYA BELLO: RECONCILE WITH THE HADI AMETUO FACTION FOR THE SAKE OF THE SOUL OF APC.

Good day your excellency,i came to realized that you really love our APC and you will do anything withing your powers to ensure its victory in the forth coming election.BUT with the way this are going on, if care is not taking, your name will be mentioned  as one who contributed to the fall of APC In the state, a party you love most.

The current political abnormal happening in the state chapter of the party which was a result of a new faction championed by the GYB new direction party faithful will not augur well for the party. This factionalization has led to parallel congress been held in the state.

Your excellency, based on past antecedents in the Nigeria political ecology, these factionalization and parallel congress can only lead  to two things in the eyes of the law

- either APC is assumed to have not feature a candidate in the Elections and the victory given to the opposition party

-or the list from the   HADI Ametuo led faction of the party who are the constitutionally recognized  party state executive in the eyes of the law will be recognized

Your excellency, the truth is  always the truth, which soever way it goes you stand at a disadvantaged side, that is the losing side. Why then spent resources and time on a mission that is politically un realistic.....? while you have a better, simpler and cheaper alternative at your door steps and disposal.

The alternative i am talking about is just that of reconciliation with the HADI AMETUO  faction of the party,so as  to obtain the sole ticket of the party from the officially and constitutionally recognized party structure in the state.

Your excellency, we know you are the chief executive of the state, why not forget about the political pride and the sycophantic advice from some  political calm and em brass the spirit of genuine reconciliation in the party.Remember the golden saying in politics,"it dosent matter how you get there, but the most important thing is that you are there".

YOUR EXCELLENCY, you can see that the lack of unity in the  party have given hope to political lunatics who have plunged the state into a pathetic and sorrowful socio-economic cum political stage to come out openly trying to dare our darling APC party that was sent to rescue the state from the hands of these chronic socio-economic saboteurs.

Lastly , i hope  you listen to this advice of reconciliation  for the success and progress of our great party. It is not a political crime for some one who is political and constitutionally fit to seek for re-election or second term , but what matters  is getting the platform fundamentally right.

Wishing  you the best as you pilot the affairs of the state, kogi state has been rescued from the hands of the  socio-economic cum political saboteurs and we shall never go back to the land of the political Egyptians again.

Break-up fears in APC as ‘New PDP’ bloc issues 7-day ultimatum

A new crisis appears to be brewing within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as members of the ‘New PDP’ bloc who moved to the party and helped it win the 2015 presidential elections, have expressed their grievance over the lack of appreciation of their efforts by President Muhammadu Buhari and the party.
The group, which defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC between 2013 and 2014 comprised of former governors of Sokoto, Aliyu Wamakko; Kano, Rabiu Kwankwaso; Kwara, Abdulfatah Ahmed; Adamawa, Murtala Nyako and Rivers, Rotimi Amaechi.
There were also former governors of Kebbi, Adamu Aliero; Gombe, Danjuma Goje; Osun, Olagunsoye Oyinlola; former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar; former acting National Chairman of PDP, Abubakar Baraje and an ex-Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal.
The self-described nPDP on Wednesday wrote a letter to the National Chairman of the APC, John Odigie-Oyegun, asking him to facilitate a meeting for them with President Buhari within seven days.
They reminded Odigie-Oyegun in the letter published and signed by Baraje and Oyinlola, of how their movement to the APC, not only swelled the ranks of the party but ensured success at the polls.
They said most of them “delivered” their states to the APC at the elections.
They also said some of the governors were assigned specific responsibilities to ensure that other states were also delivered to the APC in the 2015 elections.
They said Wamakko, apart from his state, Sokoto, also took charge of Kebbi, while Kwankwaso, the then governor of Kano State, took responsibility for Kano, Kaduna and Jigawa states.
“There were also unprecedented efforts by many stakeholders such as Senator Bukola Saraki, in concert with others, to deliver the entire North-central to the APC,” they said.
The nPDP described their efforts in the APC as a “watershed moment in Nigeria’s political history.”
They said their contributions and sacrifice were made to the APC in spite of the fact that the presidential ticket was taken by the erstwhile Congress for Progressive Change, (CPC) and the Action Congress of Nigeria, (ACN) blocs of the party.
“It is a matter for grave concern that His Excellency, Mr President, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has never publicly acknowledged our efforts in the face of clear evidence that the total number of votes scored by the APC in states where leaders and members of the then NEW PDP bloc held sway made the difference,” they said.
The letter also provided statistics, which they referred to as “stubborn facts” of their contribution to the success of APC.
They said in Kano State, APC scored 1,903,999 in 2015, and in Kwara 302,146. In Sokoto State, it scored 671,926, and 374,701 in Adamawa. They said APC also scored 567,883 votes in Kebbi and 885,988 in Jigawa.
“It was the same story in Gombe (459,898), Kogi (264,851), and Benue (373,961) votes. These represented significant additions to the APC victory column. Indeed, the influence, activities, momentum and ripple effect generated by the former New PDP block was significant in the victory of APC in the entire elections in the whole country,” they said.
The group also chronicled their grievances which they said, if addressed will lead to a harmonious APC “where justice, equity, fairness and peace will reign and enable APC avoid rancour, reinvigorate the pace of national development and face the 2019 General Elections as one united party”.
They said in the constitution of the Federal Executive Council, (FEC) by Buhari, the nPDP bloc ”was generally sidelined as virtually no position was conceded to it.”

They said the only member of FEC that belongs to their group “comes from a state that contributed virtually no vote to the APC in the 2015 presidential elections.”
Although that member was not named, the aggrieved politicians are likely referring to Rotimi Amaechi, the transport minister and former Rivers governor. The PDP won the 2015 presidential election in Rivers.
They also argued that there has been no significant patronage and appointments to executive positions in various government agencies such as chief executives and executive directors of government agencies and parastatals.
They said the group continues to helplessly watch as positions are shared by the erstwhile CPC, ACN, ANPP and even APGA blocs of the party and ”those who have no party at all.”
The ruling APC was formed by the merger of four parties: the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

“In appointments into boards of various government agencies, very few former New PDP members were patronised. These are however not commensurate with our contributions to the growth and victory of the party,” the group said.
Apart from that, they said when members of the former New PDP bloc showed interest in running for the offices of President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives, they were subjected to a “vicious and relentless political opposition as if they were not legitimate members of the APC family.”
The group added that during the party primaries preparatory to the 2015 general elections, most of the promises made to sitting members of the National Assembly, who belonged to the former new PDP, in terms of a level playing field were reneged upon or observed more in breach.
