Faleke Commends Governor Bello For Approving Establishment of State University in Okunland

Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, Chairman House Committee on Finance has commended Governor Bello for approving a new State University for Kogi West, Precisely Okun land in the State.

Faleke made this known on Thursday in a letter addressed to the State Governor and personally released through one of the media outlets.

He thanked Gov. Bello for the kind gesture which he described as deserving the people of Okun land and a step in the right direction.

"I received with elation the news of the approval granted this week by the State Executive Council to site a University in Kogi West, precisely Okunland.

For long, the Okun people have clamoured for a State University to be sited on their land to no avail inspite of the high level of literacy and educational development in the area. It therefore came as a relief that your administration has deemed it expedient to do the needful. As the popular saying goes: "It is better late than ever.

I therefore wish to use this opportunity to thank Your Excellency and all members of the State Exco for this good development which would go a long way in speeding up educational development in Okunland among other inherent advantages the project will attract.

It is my sincere hope that the University Project will take off within the shortest possible time, devoid of institutional red tapism usually associated with such government decisions.

KOGI MONARCH KILLERS: GLO SECURITY GUARD ARRESTED IN CONNECTION.

 

Based on the incident that happened in Aghara community, Kabba Bunu LGA area of Kogi State, which led to the kidnapping of HRH,  David Olaiya Obadofin on 10th of April, 2023, at about 10.30pm. 

This ugly and brutal incident took place in his residence where some groups of bandit invaded Aghara community and forcefully took him away along with one Temidayo

These groups of bandit and kidnapper arrived the Paramount rulers compound heavily armed and started shooting sporadically which led to the death of one Mrs Toyin who happens to be one of the monarch cashew seed harvest worker. An attempt to safe her life proved abortive.

According to our source, the son of the monarch Obadofin Gbami who narrowly escaped immediately after sighting the bandit was said to have tried  to make a phone call to the vigilante and security agencies, unfortunately  there was no network.

Meanwhile the information gathered from one of our reporter attached to the security agency revealed that one  Duro Bayeri(male) who is a guard to glo mask in the community was said to have intentionally shut down the network since 4pm of that very day of this ugly incident and as at the time of this report, the purpose for shutting down the glo network was yet to be revealed.

But it is no longer a news  

that this Royal Highness of Aghara community Obadofin Olaiya David was forcefully taken to the forest and killed after demanding for a  ransom of #60 million from the family which the kidnapper were not ready to negotiate.

The family are therefore calling on the  DSS and the police to intensify more efforts that will lead to arrest  of other culprits and bring them to book as the matter no longer look like a kidnap but an assassination of the innocent monarch.
