APC crisis: Only NEC can suspend me – Frank

The embattled Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, has insisted that only the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party can suspended him from the party.
He stated this in Abuja Sunday when reacting to the report of his suspension over the weekend.
The APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary was suspended by the APC National Vice Chairman (South South), Prince Hilliard Etta, who also recommended for his suspension to NEC.
Etta had set up a five man disciplinary committee to investigate a petition against the APC national officer and the committee last week submitted its report and recommended for his suspension. But Frank, who did not appear before the committee, stated that the body was wrongly constituted as he was not a zonal officer and therefore was not under a zonal leader.
Briefing journalists in Abuja, he said: “A few days ago l was reading in the papers of my suspension and the recommendation to be expelled. There is desperate plan to remove me to appoint an Acting Publicity secretary, however, here is a procedure to suspend me
“First of all l am not a Zonal officer, l am a National Officer of the party. It is only the NEC that can suspend me.”
