Kogi Speaker to stop ongoing investigation of alleged misappropriation of second tranche of paris club refund

The Kogi State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Kolawole Matthew is to discontinue the ongoing investigation of how the second tranche of Paris Club refund of N6b meant to pay workers salaries and pensioners was spent in Kogi State.

Our source revealed that the agreement compelling the Speaker to ensure at all cost that the house never  dabble into how state resources is being spent came early enough as a pre-condition for installing him as the new speaker.
The new speaker was said to have quickly oblige and signed the agreement.

The House of Assembly Speaker is therefore expected never to entertain any motion calling for the continuation of investigation into the misappropriation of N6b paris club refund or any resolution of the house to summoned any concerned government officials such as the Commissioner for Finance, State Accountant General and the Head of Service to appear before the hallowed chamber to give account of spending of the second tranche of the Paris Club refund and to as well give a comprehensive account of numbers of cleared, uncleared, paid and unpaid civil servants and pensioners in the state.

The Speaker is totally under the control and influence of the Governor and will always play to the gallery or get removed, a major stakeholder, Mr. Godwin Jimoh posited.

Recalled that crisis started rocking the house when the house under the leadership of the former speaker Hon. Imam Umar called on the State Accountant General, Commissioner for Finance and Head of Service to appear before the house to give account of how the second tranche of paris club refund which was recently accessed by the state was spent.

Aftermath hoodlums invasion of the house, Hon. Kolawole Mathew was sworn in as the new speaker after the former speaker was forced to resign out of office for calling for investigation into the N6b fund.

Sen. Smart Adeyemi who waged in during the crisis doused the tension and peacefully ensure the Speaker resigned.

The state government despite accessing the first and second tranche of Paris refund and bailout fund still owed workers and pensioners over fifteen months salaries and arrears.
