KOGI SPEAKER VISITS COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (TECHNICAL) KABBA AS 354 STUDENTS MATRICULATE

The Speaker, Kogi State House Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole paid an unscheduled visit to the Kogi State College of Education (Technical) where he interacted with the Provost  and other management staff of the College.


The Provost of the College, Mrs . Victoria Jagboro thanked the Speaker for the visit and implored him to use his office to lobby relevant government agencies for the development of the College.

The Provost hinted that work is ongoing in the permanent site of the college and thanked the state governor His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Bello for his readiness to ensure speedy completion of works in the permanent site. The Provost announced that Nigerian Communication Commission donated   internet facility to the college. She enjoined members of the public, corporate bodies and well meaning individuals  to come  into partnership with the college saying that doing so will bring about rapid development of the college.

The Provost informed the Speaker that the college matriculated 354 students on the 7th of September, 2017. She stated further that the increase in enrolment makes urgent and fast-tracked  development of the college imperative.


The Speaker thanked the Provost for a  job done noting that the upsurge in the number of matriculated students is a testimony to this. He tasked the Provost to continue to initiate policies and programmes that will continue to boost the image of the college, saying that the college has never had it so good.
Rt. Hon Kolawole assured the Provost of total legislative cooperation that will assist in fast-tracking the development of the institution .  He however  promised to donate a laptop computer to the college as his widow's’  mite.


In a related development, the Speaker donated a motorbike to Mr. Oluyori Dan Kotiko.  The donation was made at the Place of Oba of Gbeleko, HRH Oba Akin Obamero.


Presenting the motorcycle, the Speaker informed the gathering  that the donation was part of his constituency project and a fulfilment of a promise he made to the beneficiary during his Inter-college quiz competition in March 2017 when he noticed the transportation challenges faced by Mr. Dan kotitko. He however promised to continue to put smiles on faces of his constituents. The Speaker informed that he would soon roll out his widows’ empowerment scheme among others.


In his reaction, the beneficiary, Mr. Oluyori Dan Kotiko thanked the Speaker for fulfilling his promise, he charged him never to relent in giving as everything everyone does is not without reward(s) both here and hereafter.

The Oba of Gbeleko, Oba (Engr.) Akin Obamero thanked the Speaker for exhibiting uncommon traits of politicians and enjoined him not to relent in his philanthropic gestures. He appealed to everyone to  team up with the Speaker to move the constituency forward.
