He said the author need to come forward with facts to prove his allegations against the house.

While supporting the motion, Hon. Jimoh Musa Omiata, member representing Yagba East State Constituency said he was also shocked to read the publication on the social media platforms, noting that at no time did the sixth assembly under the leadership of Rt. He said a committee should be set up to summon the author of the publication to appear and defend the allegations with facts available to him that such loan were truly approved by the assembly.

Ruling on the motion, the Honourable Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole said he was the most embarrassed with the publication, considering the number of calls he received based on the malicious and satanic publication orchestrated to cause disaffection among members, the executive and legislature in the state.

He said the author didn’t only accuse the Executive of bribing the members of the assembly; he also alleged the members of taking bribe to the tune of 100 million naira while he claimed that the Speaker absconded with 100 million naira to UK.

The Speaker said he only travelled to the United State of America with the Deputy Speaker to attend the 72nd United Nations General Assembly held in New York.

At the end of the deliberation the house resolved to petition the Nigeria Police and the Department of State Service to investigate his allegations, urging Austin Okai to come with documents to back up his claims.

The Speaker welcomed him into the fold and commended him for the bold step to join the party at this time, urging him to join hands with other APC members in the house to reposition the party in his constituency.

While at the plenary, Hon. Idris Ndako also raised a motion of Urgent Public Importance calling on the state government to construct a pedestrian bridge at Kogi State Polytechnic, speed breakers from the NNPC mega station down to Nataco junction to reduce the incessant accidents along the Felele area of Abuja – Lokoja road, stressing that despite the road is a federal road it is in the heart of Felele – Lokoja.

He also urged the state government to strengthen the Task Force unit that would be controlling traffic around the area especially on market days.
