KOGI STATE: The Rice Donation, Sympathy or mockery?

First and foremost, I sympathise with those that have lost their jobs during the staff verification exercise and those believed to have lost their lives for lack of money to administer their health challenges and so on.

However, my worries about  Kogi state now is the rate at which we engage too much on letting the world see how far things are worse than seeking for solution to our problem.

I should be number one person to be happy if Governor Yahaya Bello fails in his administration because, I believe he stole my principal's mandate BUT I will be the last person to be happy that the outside world is now laughing at my state.

Even if every Nigerian should donate bags of Rice to us, it wouldn't solve our problem. When the Rice finishes what follows? Will the Senate continue to donate rice on monthly basis? Isn't this a mockery of our golden self?

I think we need to think outside the Box.

The administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello has not met her promises and the way forward is to put pressure on him to explain to us what exactly is the problem in the Treasury and pay salaries to workers.

Otherwise it is becoming saddening that everybody now happy to be seen by the world as a poor person because he or she is a Kogite.

As I write, as once a state appointee, I still have outstanding arrears owed by the state government in millions not hundreds but I will not allowed to be seen by outside world as a poor fellow because I am from Kogi state. When I know, there's nothing I will achieve than to be laughed at.

On the side of the Governor's Media, reporting has not being consisted on figures. When we hear two months salary today, tomorrow it is eight, twelve, thirteen and more by the same administration ..this make caricature of the whole thing and every intelligent person will know that there is an internal problems within the cabinet that they are chewing.

Let the Governor tell us why he told the world that he owes only two month. Could he have released all the expected monies and some sat on it? Why are his Aides fighting him on figures? Something must be wrong somewhere....

Let's redirect our struggle. If we need outside support, let's be objective either to demand for State of Emergency that will remove the Governor than causing more injury to the image of our dear state.

Whatever it is, I will not choose the side of allowing the world to laugh at my state.

Thank you
