I will create effective change in Ogori/Magongo if elected-Otunba Oluwasegun

By Gideon Ayodele

Politics is said to be for development and this development can only be achieved through effective and effective representation.

Otunba Oluwasegun Ajiboye has promised to create effective change in the constituency through Independent Democrats (I.D) platform. According to him, he has chosen this political party with the hope of giving Ogori/Magongo a choice.

Otunba Oluwasegun Ajiboye who believed that the past and present representatives from the constituency have been trying and offering their best but their best is yet not good enough for the constituency and confident to bring about a rapid and drastic development to his people.

While interacting with our source, he said "I feel that the time has come for me to offer myself as a servant in the public arena. My hope is to bring education to the forefront of issue, create Agricultural empowerment, youth empowerment, women empowerment and portable water etc"

"Specifically I will be looking at programmes, initiatives and interventions in key areas such as commerce and industry, agricultural transformation, education and training, infrastructural development in Ogori/Magongo, youth and socio-economic development of Ogori/Magongo, improved healthcare service delivery and other areas. Over the years, there has been this cry of disconnect between elected representatives and the electorate. How do you intend to bridge the gap between you and your constituents if elected?

"To be truly representative, I will ensure that the constituents have access to information about parliamentary proceedings, legislation, and policy, and be able to engage in continual dialogue with me. In this regard, regular constituency briefing and town hall meetings will be a key feature of my representation".

"The key principle here is inclusion and participation, ensuring that every Ogori/Magongo person is able to voice his or her opinion and so contribute to the development of laws and policies thereby giving back power to the people. It will be about making laws and initiating policies that will be responsive to the values and interest of our people".

"The bottom line is that Ogori/Magongo state constituency need state and federal presence, which I promise to offer. We are a peaceful people but not stupid or foolish.  We need road infrastructure network, state and federal government key institutions. If given the opportunity to represent the good people of this highly educated and exposed constituency, I shall therefore use the legislative seat to attract development and road infrastructure projects, promote participation in schemes and programmes of the state government that help alleviate poverty, create jobs, encourage entrepreneurship and foster growth and development of the good people of Ogori/Magongo Local government".

"Additionally, attention will therefore be given to understanding our needs, our development priorities, our communal aspirations and codifying this into our legislative agenda through positive engagements and consultations and driving its effective implementation" he concluded.
