EPILEPTIC POWER SUPPLY IN KOGI WEST : Omoluabi threatens to drag AEDC to Court for economic sabortage and extortion...

Gives company a 7 day untimatum to improve power supply...

Electricity consumers in Kogi West Senatorial district appear to be having great expectations in the days ahead as a civil right activist and African Democratic Congress Senatorial Candidate, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has threatened to drag Abuja Electricity Distribution Company to court for what he describe as economic sabortage, extortion and administrative robbery against the people. He said that the rate at which AEDC chargs the people for electricity consumption is far contrary to the total absence of electricity that have become the order of the day.

Omoluabi in a strongly worded letter addressed to the Managing Director and CEO of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company demand immediate upward review of the electricity supply to the entire Kogi West or face legal action.

" After staying more at home in the last three months of campaign, I have discovered the deliberate, wicked, most unacceptable and unimaginably ridiculous supply of electricity for my people despite the arbitrary and wicked rates they are forcefully made to pay.
As a member of the Nigeria Elctricity Consumers Advocacy Network (NECAN) who is very conversant and informed on the billing system, I can confirm that case of extortion, economic sabotage and administrative robbery has been noticed and established. It is therefore my desire that this ugly trend is quickly corrected or we head to court to seek redress and ask for refund of all that have been illegally collected in the past" Omoluabi says.

It will be recalled that the people of Kogi West have been surviving under the worst elctricity supply in the nation, the action of Omoluabi is what many people have applauded and declared timely and commendable. The effect of the poor supply of electricity have affected many small scale buainesses across the state and have substantially affected the economic fortune of the people.
