9th Assembly: Minority Leadership Tussle, Hon. Leke Abejide Expresses Concern.

The House of Representatives  session yesterday became rowdy as choice of lawmakers to fill the positions of minority leadership generated altercations amidst the 9th Assembly lawmakers.

The party having the highest number of  minority representatives in the green chambers, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) were said to have submitted a list to the speaker of the House Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila  to fill the positions of the minority leadership without considering the other elected members from other minority parties, this caused a mild chaos in the house during the plenary session.

Hon. Leke Abejide expresses concern, that due process be followed, as minority leadership position isn't just for a particular political party but other political parties should be considered for the positions.
Hon. Leke said it should be an unanimous decision between all the minority parties in the house.

Responding to house correspondent, the Yagba Federal Constituency Member said he has to set the record straight, he stressed that, minority caucus in the house are made up of different political parties under which members were elected to represent their various constituencies and therefore minority positions should be zoned to members across al the minority political parties in the house.
