On this amazing day of National celebration, I join other patriotic Nigerians to wish us all a happy 59th Independence anniversary.
As a sovereign nation, we have gone through diverse, complex, difficult and challenging times. Also, the country has witnessed some remarkable achievements and significant milestones.
Indeed, the country has, in the past few years, experienced and still passing through certain sociological, political and economic challenges which increasingly impedes meaningful growth and development. Unfortunately, these negative tendencies are stifling national unity and cohesion, peaceful co-existence and togetherness; which have always being the hallmark of our dear country.
As we savour the joy of Nigeria's 59th Independence anniversary, I wish to most passionately counsel us all that, more than ever before, the spirit of oneness, patriotism and togetherness must be re-ignited in all Nigerians. It is the right time for every Nigerian, either as Leaders, Followers, old, young, male or female, to not only imbibe but extend the spirit of love, unity, selflessness and mutual understanding to one another.
As I use this medium to congratulate the good people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency on the occasion of Nigeria's 59th Independence anniversary, it is my prayer that all our dreams, desire, expectation and wishes for our communities shall come true. As we join our brothers and sisters for the forthcoming Kogi State Governorship election, I pray that the abiding grace of the Almighty shall release peace, unity and amity within and across the entire towns, communities and villages in Kogi State. I pray that every plan, machinations and orchestration of evil, violence, bloodshed and other social vices in our dear State is not only neutralised, cancelled but rendered useless, of no effect in the name of the Most High. I pray that at the end of the whole exercise, Kogi State will not only come out peaceful, greater and bigger, but the plan and purpose of God for our state as a prosperous, fruitful and vibrant land shall be fulfilled, Amen.
Congratulations to us all. Happy Independence anniversary.

NIGERIA At 59: Hon. Leke Felicitates with Nigerians
We are grateful to God for His grace and mercy that have sustained us as one indivisible nation, despite the tragic insecurity issues and other socio-political upheavals.
Although, this year's independence calls for a sober reflection and prayers for divine intervention in charting and piloting the ship of the Nigerian state to the path of rectitude, development and advancement.
The state of the Nation is not too good. Nigeria is at the crossroads being attacked by insurgencies, banditry and other national issues.
Our long national nightmare will soon be over, the Nation will be transformed with a progressive and reactionary forces that needs to be chartered by Youths. I believe our frail democracy and national pride will be restored to our long suffering compatriots.
I want to encourage our youths not to relent in their strives at working towards a better Nation, they should also shun all forms of violence and cultism.
The youths are the central body of the Nation and the backbone to attain a revolutionary Nigeria, it is quite clear that as leaders we have to channel a course to change the economic situation of our dear country.
I want to urge all Nigerians to keep faith and to embrace the collective national interest of our country to build a strong, prosperous, decent society.
Happy Independence Anniversary!

I have not directed my supporters to vote Wada of PDP, I remain a committed loyal member of APC-Usman Jibrin
The attention of the former Naval Boss, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin RTD has been drawn to news going round that the APC governorship aspirant has directed his supporters across the state to vote Engr. Musa Wada of PDP in the forth coming gubernatorial election in the state.
Those peddling and circulating such odious falsehood are mischief makers and members of the party who are set out to further cause crisis in the APC party ahead of the gubernatorial election.
My teeming supporters and I do not wish and will not engage in any anti party activities that will obviously sabotage the effort of our party in winning the coming election.
It would be recalled that immediately after the outcome of the screening exercise by the Party prior to the gubernatorial primary election, I openly stated that myself and my teeming supporters will abide by the party decision and I have not rescinded on this decision of mine.
On this note, I therefore wish to reinstate my commitment to my earlier statement, just like stated before, I remain a committed member of APC and will therefore work for the success of the preferred candidate of the party come November 16th.
It is however worth stating that party members should stop using my name to create disharmony in the APC. I should not been be used as part of campaign issues but what various parties should be capable of doing through effective management of human and material resources when voted in by the electorates. Please note that political powers come from Almighty Allah and not through falsehood as enjoyed by mischief makers.
Thank you.
Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin RTD

Kogi Guber: Those Condemning Faleke Are Ignorant-Bayo Olumoko
A foremost politician and philanthropist, Hon. Bayo Olumoko yesterday in Abuja condemn the recent outburst from Kogites over the former Kogi State deputy Governorship candidate and member House of Reps, James Abiodun Faleke's decision to support the Kogi State APC Governorship candidate, Yahaya Bello for a second term in Office.
In a statement released in Abuja, Olumoko said those condemning James Abiodun Faleke are the same ignorant people who has benefited from his Large Heart and philanthropic gestures in the past.
Olumoko said the man has not even come out openly to say he will support Bello and even if he did, he has all moral justification to do that as a party faithful.
People should be aware that, his support for anyone does not change who he is.
He said It’s only an ungrateful individual who will deny knowledge of what Faleke went through in the hand of same Kogites, the so called ‘Loyalists’, that will want to rubbish his hard earned reputation today.
"All the Political Orphans that benefited from his benevolence and political revival are the first set of clowns to abandon him. If not for his Money that some were Loyal to, what makes so many of them not to stay on with him to the end, he queried.
Now some of them are ranting that he endorsed Yahaya Bello. Our people can be so forgetful and ungrateful. I have the record of everyone James Faleke assisted financial and morally.
Though some few individuals should be commended for standing their grounds to the end with Faleke, they are the true loyalist and men of integrity, they are the true Falekites.
Olumoko also stressed that the major reason development is far from Okun Land(Kogi West) is mainly the "Bring him Down syndrome" that has eaten deep into the system.
So Faleke should go and break CBN Vault to sustain their Loyalty?
He said even those he has assisted with his hard earned money, where are they now?
Only a fool will tow the same wrong paths.
I hope those who had abandoned the good man Faleke will bury their heads in shame for abandoning a good cause for their immediate material benefits. Faleke this Faleke that, Are these people out of their senses? He lamented.

KOGI GOVERNORSHIP ELECTION: PDP APPOINTS CAMPAIGN OFFICIALS, SETS UP COMMITTEES
Authentic change, based on the peoples’ collective aspirations is about to be actualized in Kogi State, the Director-General of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship campaign organization, Hon. Teejay Yusuf has said.
Hon. Yusuf who also represents Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, said a mix of committed youths with capacity, along with experienced politicians from the three Senatorial zones in the State, have been carefully selected to steer the PDP’s “Wada/Aro Governorship” campaign.
“Many Kogites worry that the ruling party in the state comprises so-called leaders who have always been associated with cooking up mischief and who will stop at nothing, including shooting a gathering of innocent people who do not believe in them but we plead for non-violence.

Re: Supporters Disagree With Faleke On Bello’s Second Term Bid
The Kogi West Progressives Stakeholders wishes to describe the story currently trending online and written by one Adeyemi Jacob over what transpired on Thursday consultative meeting of the group in Abuja as baseless, complete distortion of the truth, reckless, unfounded and aimed at misleading the general public ahead of the November 16th gubernatorial election.
The sponsors of the malicious publication are disgruntled mischief makers and elements of darkness who are set out to frustrate all effort by the Audu/Faleke group to explore all available channels towards genuine reconciliation of warring factions in the party APC.
We wish to state that anyone who harbours the belief that Kogi West Stakeholders held a meeting yesterday and that there were disagreements and fracas is, surely, living in a fool's paradise.
The writer merely published his wishes which is never a reflection of what transpired in the meeting, Its therefore absurd to say that Kingley Ogah presided over a meeting of Kogi West where eminent sons and daughters of the district were present, this indeed was to underrate the entire Kogi West progressives under the leadership of Chief Benjamin Olowodola.
Its however pertinent that we set the records straight, the issues that generated into a mere exchange of words and misunderstandings between Kingsley Ogah and Mrs Funmilayo were basically that of transportation issue and was never a disagreement among attendees on the issues discussed, the issues discussed were mainly on how to further explore all available genuine reconciliatory channels to settle all Kogi APC intra party interests ahead of the Governorship election.
For the sponsors of the rancorous story to distort the truth about what actually transpired is to be mild, wicked and unreasonable.
The story is the fragment of the writer's imagination. We are also aware that the efforts of those who were sponsored by agents of the candidate of another party, to spread malicious falsehood about the forum and its meeting, lack the weight to cause any serious damage. The meeting was resolute.
The resolve of Kogi West APC Progressives, not to engage in anti-party but to work for the success of the party and it's candidate was clear without any form of ambiguity. No lies published on any platform will change this resolution.
Moreso, its completely outrageous for the writer to have falsefully claim that Hon Faleke who was not even present at the meeting had received a whopping sum of a billion naira from Governor Bello. We wish to state that throughout the meeting hours, nobody accused the leadership of the forum or Hon. Faleke of collecting any money, so anyone who is spreading such a rumour with the aim of causing disaffection is wicked and has failed already.
There is no iota of truth to these allegations of taking money from the Governor for whatsoever reasons. The accusation was “staged, sponsored, disjointed” and it was deliberately released to “affect the anticipated quantum of APC votes in the coming November guber election”.
The Kogi West progressives have also decided to file a criminal case against any individual found wanting on defamation of character to mischievously portray Hon. Faleke and any member of the group in an inappropriate conduct henceforth.
Let it be clear that any attempt to cause division within our group in Kogi West will fail on arrival. Hon. Faleke is a man of proven integrity. He has been spending his personal resources, since 2015, to pursue the collective goals of the group.
The detractors who are out to malign him have, severally, benefitted from him. They sing praises when they are offered food and also, in the same manner, sing crucification when they are hungry. Anyone who labours to smear Hon. Faleke's name or the name of any leader of our forum, labours in vain.
While the Kogi West Progressives continue to explore all available reconciliatory moves, we wish to assure the good people of Kogi State that Hon. Faleke will remain focus and continue with laudable programmes that will add value to the lives of the people of Kogi State.

Hon. Asiwaju Idris Asiru: Best Thing To Happen To Okun Nation Under Gov. Bello's Administration
Hon. Asiwaju Idris Asiru, Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, has been described as the best thing to happen to the Okun nation under the administration of Gov. Yahaya Bello.
The above assertion was the summation of the people in Yagba East LGA following the presentation of 6 Sianna Buses, 15 Motorcycles and One hundred Handsets to Yagba East LGA APC Ward Chairmen, Youths and Women Leaders to them by Hon Asiwaju Idris Asiru.
Others who benefitted from the magnanimous gesture of the Finance Commissioner are Group's like G34 for GYB/CEDO movement that cut across the 34 wards of yagba federal constituency alongside some party faithfuls in the local government areas of Yagba East, described him as a God sent leader to always put smiles on their faces.
The NIGERIAN POST was on hand to witness today's presentation and magnanimity by Hon. Asiwaju Idris Asiru, is however different from the presentation of motorcycles among other items he has done to party faithfuls in the past.
The APC family in Yagba East described Hon. Asiwaju Idris Asiru as a leader of repute, whose passion is the interest of Gov. Yahaya Bello, little wonder he is always ready to give back to the APC family.
The APC Chieftains, youths and women leaders described the Finance Commissioner as one person who is committed to building a generation of leaders that are empowered and self sustaining, said by the magnanimity of Hon. Asiwaju Idris Asiru, winning the governorship election in Yagba and the rest of Western Senatorial district is already a done deal.
The people unanimously commended the large heart of Hon. Asiwaju Idris Asiru, urged him to continue in that stead, assuring that better days await him politically, thanked Governor Yahaya Bello for his appointment.
The APC members urged the people of Yagba East to reciprocate the good gestures of Hon. Asiwaju Idris Asiru, assuring that the APC has no alternative in the forthcoming November governorship election.
In a remarks, Hon. Asiwaju Idris Asiru says the gesture is his modest way of given back to the people, described Gov. Yahaya Bello as a leader needed by the state to build trust and confidence, using infrastructure and development.

FUOYE STUDENTS KILLED; JUSTICE MUST BE DONE-Nayo Jude Babatunde°
GREATEST NIGERIAN STUDENT'S !
EVER UNINTIMIDATED NIGERIAN STUDENT'S !
EVER SAGACIOUS NIGERIANS STUDENT'S!
Penned here are the vibrant words RTR. Comr. Nayo Jude Babatunde (A. K. A Aluta Knowledgeticus) a noble, articulate and dedicated Congress Man of the National Association of Nigerian Student's (NANS)
Solidarity greetings to everyone reading this with interest and emancipation of Nigerian Student's at heart, and warning to all oppressors of the Nigerian Students, your nemesis is here.
Combatant greetings in Loyalty to the NANS National President, Comr. Danielson Bamidele Akpan (GCNS), NANS Senate President, Comr. Maxwell Nyanabo, my ever Intellectual Senator representing kogi State polytechnic, Comr. Omeiza Jafaru (SUG President KSP).
Salutations to the Zonal Coordinator (NANS Zone C) Comr. Suleiman Mohamed, my ever indefatigable Kogi NANS JCC chairman, Comr. Otaru Andah Abdulhakim and all NANS JCC chairmen across Nigeria.
Solidarity and condolence regards to the Students Union Government (SUG) President Federal University Oye Ekiti, Comr. Oluwaseun Awodola and all the ever unintimidated Students of the institution.
8 DAYS AFTER 2 FUOYE STUDENTS WERE KILLED; Justice must be done!
NIGERIA STUDENTS DESERVES MORE FROM THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT AND HER AGENCIES THAN TO BE KILLED COMFORTABLY.
i write this words emotionally with sore in my heart, tears in my eyes and my feet cold too. I wonder bitterly the country we live in Where a Governors wife's car is worth more than two Students life. The agony in me is draining me so fast, but my Awetus spirit is awake and regardless I'm convinced of emancipation and victory for the Nigerian Students.
I condemn in strong term the killings of two Students of the federal University Oye_Ekiti among many other Students protesting for poor electricity supply by the police officers attached to the wife of the Ekiti state Governor Mrs. Bisi Fayemi.
The last Tuesday incident which left Oluwaseyi Kehinde, a 100L Student of Crop and Horticulture and Joseph Okonofua, a 300L Student of Biology education dead and many other Students hospitalized is wicked, evil, horrific, dreadful, barbaric disheartening and threat to humanity.
If the truth must be told, on what account should the police officers shoot to death unarmed Students that are protesting? What happens to rubber bullets ? What happens to Barton's? What happens to tear gas? When has been a student makes one a subject of execution?
I could not believe my eyes when I saw videos of Nigeria Police officer shooting without seizing at unarmed, innocent Students.
The Nigerian Students deserves more from the Nigerian Government and her agencies than being killed comfortably.
A promising hope has been killed, a world president has been killed, destinies has been cut short, dreams has been killed, potentials has been wasted and generations unborn has been denied humanity.
The Nigerian Governments (central /State) has failed Nigerian Students, by killing us and by exposing us to death comfortably.
*Nigeria Students deserves free education
*Nigerian Students deserves good schools
*Nigerian Students deserves more than subsidised education
*Nigerian Students deserves Happy Teachers/ lecturers
*Nigerian Students deserves respect
*Nigerian Students deserves a ministry for Students welfare, protection and insurance
*Nigerian Students deserves more Governmental attention
Furthermore, as a matter of urgency, the Nigerian Students demands fundamentally, with no fear or favour, justice for the two Students killed by the Nigerian Police officers attached to the wife of the Ekiti State governor at the Tuesday incident (8 days ago) at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti.
I urge the Nigerian Presidency, Legislatives, Judiciary, the Inspector General on Police, Ekiti state Commissioner of police, Ekiti state Governor, Vice chancellor FUOYE and the constituted panel of enquiry to work harmoniously to make sure justice prevail.
I hope to see the killers spelt, prosecuted and executed.
The ever intellectual Nigerian Students are in no doubt aware of the human dynamism and the inevitability to be corrupt. But regardless, justice must prevail, our wrongs must be corrected and our wounds would be healed.
I am relieved and happy whenever I remember the judgment day, when the suprememost Aluta Judge here and beyond would seat on his throne and we shall all give account of our struggles. Fairness, equity and justice shall be our watch word.
I remember today all our pedagogical heroes and fallen heroes of the National Association of Nigerian Students NANS, I remember late Comr. Moses Osakede, Former NANS President, Comr.

Okun Political Summit: Renegotiating Okun interest for 2019
Okun Political Summit 2019 is put together to create a platform, avenue and opportunity for the people of Okunland in the six Local Government areas of Kogi to review their political history, access their present political attainment/challenges and discuss a way forward to realizing their aims and desires as a people.
The event of the last six decades requires that the people of Okunland need an urgent political confab that will elicit opportunities for robust introspect, genuine soul, searching, sincere fence mending and a workable united front for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Kogi state.
It is not news, neither is it misplaced to say that the commonest and topmost on the agenda of our people is the quest for a Kogi Governor of Okun extraction, this is more resounding in the minds of the people in view of their search for infrastructural, social, economic and political development, the intensity of their quest is driven by the fact that holding such a plum position will confer far-reaching opportunities and pace for achieving all of the desires.
It is therefore important that a collective approach is applied to making the dream a reality. The unfortunate snag, however, has been the individualistic approach that has been applied in the past, the reality of the day, however, suggests a more united and communal approach to this.
The November 2019 gubernatorial election has indeed presented itself as a golden opportunity to experiment this much touted desire. It is in the reality of this that we call for the 1st Okun political summit. A gathering of former and serving elected political office holders from Okunland, former and serving appointed political office holders from Okunland, former and serving party elected officials from Okunland, all former elected candidates of political parties for political office contest, traditional rulers from Okunland, religious leaders from Okunland, women and youth leaders.
Aims And Objectives

To work assiduously for the political, social and economic emancipation of Okun people

Ajagun Commends Dino Melaye, Irukera For Contesting For Kogi Governorship
...Lambasts Okun delegates for selling the prosperity of Okun Land in return of lucre.....
Says, Okuns are not yet be conscious of their problem.....
The Former National President of Okun Students, Comrade Ajagun Opeyemi Samuel has commended the Senator representing Kogi West Dino Melaye and Barrister Babatunde Irukera for having the confidence to contest for the office of the Governor, Kogi State.
Ajagun described the duo in a press conference at Kabba saying Senator Dino Melaye and Barrister Babatunde Irukera as the pride of Okun Land and a patriotic Kogi State developers.
He noted that the two illustrious Sons have demonstrated total commitment, love and patriotism to the course of Okun land and Kogi state in general, having listened to the calls of the people by putting themselves forward to serve the entire people of Kogi State irrespective of the challenges affecting the growths and the development of our dear state.
Ajagun said that since the creation of Kogi State in 1991, no Okun person have had the opportunity to ascend to the paramount position of governor of the State
He encouraged and charged the leaders across Okun Land to keep fighting for the interest of Okun people, observing that if an Okun man clinch the seat of Governor of the state, visible developments will feature in the district
Ajagun said that Barrister Irukera who is the Director General of Federal Competition, Consumer Protection Council and Senator Representing Kogi West, Senator Dino Melaye had done their best in the just concluded party's primaries of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and The All Progressives Congress (APC) respectively.
While observing the series of electoral malpractices that characterized both party's primaries, Ajagun criticized some delegates from Okun land for not supporting their own brothers during the process
He noted that Barrister Irukera of the All Progressives Congress who came second would have floored the incumbent governor of the state to emerge the winner of the primaries if all the delegates from the party across Okun land had not traded the prosperity prospect of Okun land for a dime of lucre.
In an aggressive manner, Ajagun challenged all the delegates from Okun land across the two main party for compromising and betraying the course of their land. Stating that Okun people would have used the opportunity of the incompetency of the incumbent governor to emerge as the governor of the state
He urged all Sons and Daughters of Okun land to reflect back on the pains and gains since the creation of the state, saying that Okun people are gradually turning to be the third class citizens of the state.
However, Ajagun eulogized those who has continued to support the emancipation of Okun people from political segregation

The National Chiarman of All Progressive Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomiole has called an emergency meeting of its disqualified aspirants ahead of the November 16th Governorship election.
The meeting is currently holding today Thursday (today) at the party headquarters.
Our correspondent who sighted the letter of invitation from the office of the APC National Chairman, gathered that issues on the table includes how to pacify all aggrieved aspirants mostly those who were not cleared to contest the party primaries and how to form a United campaign train ahead of the general election.
Some of the issues, our correspondent learnt, included the possibility of compensating the aspirants and their supporters to shield their sword in the interest of the party.
We need to discuss how to unite the party and compensate all aggrieved aspirants and stakeholders, We cannot go to that battle as a scattered group. If we do, we could be whipped again.

Gunmen attack: Resort To Violence Cannot Save You- PDP Tells Yahaya Bello
The party says the resort to violence and bloodletting cannot save the failed governor and his party, the APC, as the PDP and the people of Kogi state are firm in the irreversible resolve to use every means available in a democracy to confront and vanquish APC’s evil plots ahead of the November governorship election.
It is clear to all that Governor Yahaya Bello has become chaotic in the face of his rejection by the people as well as the soaring popularity of the PDP in Kogi state, and has now resorted to violence in a failed desperate attempt to prevent our party from presenting a candidate for the election.
For the avoidance of doubt, the PDP had a peaceful, decent, clean, clear, credible and transparent process in the conduct of our primary. Accredited delegates had voted and the balloting had been concluded in a very orderly manner before the vicious attack by the gunmen, who were shouting pro-Bello mantra and accompanied by known APC faces.
The PDP only has pity for Yahaya Bello and the APC because our processes are still intact and nothing can sway our resolve as well as strong will by the people of Kogi state to kick them out of office in November.
This is more so as the attack has further united our governorship aspirants, critical stakeholders, leaders and teeming members and supporters across the state for a common front against Yahaya Bello and the APC.
Indeed, nothing can detract from this, as the attack has further united and bolstered the people of Kogi state to remain behind our party in the decisive struggle and the noble objective to liberate their state from the violent and suppressive forces.
Our message to Yahaya Bello and the APC is that their days in office are already numbered and that they cannot stay a day beyond the stipulated hand-over date.
In resorting the violence and forceful occupation, the APC and rejected Governor should have known the people of Kogi state have never in history, bowed in subjugation to any body no matter the force or intimidation.
That spirit of resistance to oppression and force has been triggered and we caution the APC to steer clear of the wrath of the people, who have decided to take back their state by voting in the PDP, come November 16.

With Bello as Kogi APC gov candidate, election is a walkover for us —PDP
Gbenga Odogun, Lokoja
Kogi State People’s Democratic Party has said that the decision of delegates of the All Progressives Congress to elect incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello as the party’s flag bearer for the November 16 governorship election would make it easy for them to win.
Reacting to Bello’s emergence, the PDP, through its spokesman, Bode Ogunmola, said the choice of Bello “despite his poor performance” would ensure an easy win for the party.
The PDP also cited what it described as the “general public resentment against Bello’s administration” as another reason it would win the election.
The party said it had, all along, been praying for the APC to “make the mistake of re-presenting Governor Bello.”
“It is a well known fact that Governor Bello cannot win any local government, given his poor performance and the way and manner the resources of the state are being massively looted.
“His desperation to return is to save himself from going to prison over looted funds. That was why he had to spend hugely to get strong contenders disqualified.
“If he succeeds in fooling the leadership of his party and the delegates, we are confident that he cannot fool Kogi electorate who are victims of his monumental mis-governance.”
