The Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Idah Kogi State has awarded the tertiary institution’s Fellowship to Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, the chairman of the House Committee on Finance for his contribution to the development of the institution as well as the society at large.
This was contained in a statement by the Media Aide to the lawmaker.
The letter of award was received on his behalf by Prof. Gbenga Ibileye on 26th November 2022 while the roping was done by Professor JJ Orugun in his Abuja office on Sunday Dec 11th 2022.
Presenting the award, the professor said that the institution is one of the best Polytechnic in Nigeria.
He also added that the award to the lawmaker was arrived at on the basis of his contribution to the development of the institution as well as his various laudable role in the National Assembly and the empowerment of thousands of constituents.
Responding to the presentation, Honourable Faleke expressed joy that the award was not just at the discretion of the rector but the Governing Council and management of the institution based on his activities in the institution and beyond; adding that even without the award he will continue to contribute to the development of the institution and the society.
He deserves such an honour being a gentle representative of his constituency and the state at large.
