What Nigerians Should EXPECTATE from Mr President by AB AHMAD

ASIWAJU AHMED BOLA TINUBU’S PRESIDENCY SHALL BE THE TRANSFORMATION OF NIGERIA CRITICAL SECTORS: AN INSIGHT TO THE EXPECTATIONS OF NIGERIANS BY HON. DR. AB AHMAD, FIICEP

What will one write or say that has not been said about Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Jagaba of the Borgu Kingdom, erstwhile Governor of Lagos state, at a time a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and of course the National leader of the APC. He has now being sworn in as the 16th President, Federal Republic of Nigeria. His acumen and shrewdness in politics is far beyond prompt commentary. One has to carefully understand Tinubu before commenting on him, if not one will end up misrepresenting facts about him. He is a man of different shades, but has remained very consistent to his ideals and vision, which has overtime yielded him the good, the bad and the obnoxious interpretations.

With his antecedents in private and public sectors, as well as his passion for pragmatic result oriented changes, it is safe to allude that Tinubu’s presidency shall pay attention to POWER, EDUCATION, AGRICULTURE, SECURITY and EMPLOYMENT codified as PEASE. This is so nuanced owing to his depth understanding of the Nigerian state and also his desire to bring to bear his expertise in human capital development. It should be noted that over the years, political engagements and activities are often heightened prior to or during and/or immediately after elections, thereby making the developmental strides half baked, living a gab for unwarranted speculations. We have also observed that the chaotic permutation of some politicians has given room for divisions and political maneuvers leading to conflict of interests among members of the political party in power and even in the opposition.

Therefore, Tinubu understands that with stable power supply, education and the economy thrives, just as agriculture through small and agro-allied productions floors the markets by increasing the per capita income of the nation. On the other hand, without security, employment and agricultural productions will continue to be a mirage to all, hence, the need for a concerted efforts in galvanising the manpower to drive home PEASE for the betterment of all Nigerians and without doubt Tinubu/Shettima Presidency are out to achieve same.

The voluble determination cum sagacious spirit of mentorship in Tinubu has remained an enigma, and has been an intrinsic outlook that has enhanced his relevance within the annals of the Nigerian political trajectory. He it was that stated during the inaugural lecture delivered by erstwhile President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta that “I must run this race and must do it well. On security, the economy, agriculture, jobs, education, health and power and in all other sectors we must make headway.  The people deserve no less...” Invariably, Tinubu understands his mandate and who pray God – Almighty will ease and grant him good health to triumph over the naysayers.

Tinubu is known to hunt for talents and uses competent brains (not minding their states of origin) to get results, while many of his contemporaries euro-centric thinking caps in addressing Nigeria’s multifaceted, deeply rooted socio-economic experiments, without recourse to realities, agonies and pains of the citizenry. He stated again at the inauguration lecture event that “this stately occasion is living evidence that Nigeria is a vibrant and true democracy. All of us here bear witness to this inspiring proceeding where one leader bestows personal honor on his successor. Also, that leader does his utmost to exchange the baton of government by ensuring that his successor is as well-prepared as possible for the task at hand.”

Tinubu is of many rims – assuasive, broadminded, tactical, and principled to a fault. His philosophy of politics without acrimony is something else that even unsettles his political mentees and even his political opponents. Jagaba is indeed a game changer! In fact, he allows all forms of opinions during discussions, listens more attentively when being spoken to, but when he takes decision, his personae resonates in such good decisions taken.

Interestingly during Tinubu’s swearing-in today he assured all and sundry that “Our government also shall work with the National Assembly to fashion an omnibus Jobs and Prosperity bill. This bill will give our administration the policy space to embark on labour-intensive infrastructural improvements, encourage light industry and provide improved social services for the poor, elderly and vulnerable.”

We nonetheless, join million Nigerians to congratulate Their Excellences, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima for the rare opportunity to Nigeria and Nigeria
