Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, has announced that he is taking an indefinite leave of absence to address pressing medical concerns within his immediate family. Ngelale made the announcement public on Saturday through his verified social media accounts.

In the statement, Ngelale confirmed that he had submitted a memo to the Chief of Staff to the President, formally notifying the office of his decision to step away from his duties. His roles also include Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.

"While I fully appreciate that the ship of state waits for no man, this agonizing decision was taken after significant consultations with my family," Ngelale wrote, highlighting the severity of the situation at home.

Although no timeline was given for his return, Ngelale expressed hope for resuming his national service once circumstances improve. "I look forward to returning to full-time national service when time, healing, and fate permit," he added.

In his post, Ngelale also requested privacy for his family during this challenging period.

Ngelale's announcement has sparked a wave of well-wishes and support across social media, recognizing his significant contributions to the Presidency’s media strategies and climate action initiatives. The Presidency has not yet named an interim replacement for his various roles.
