Jaywon Slams Senator Karimi

𝗣𝗢𝗣𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗥 𝗡𝗜𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗔𝗡 𝗠𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗡 Jaywon Oba Orin 𝗦𝗟𝗔𝗠𝗦 𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥 Hon Karimi Sunday 𝗙𝗢𝗥 "𝗭𝗘𝗥𝗢 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗧" 𝗜𝗡 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘

…𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽.

Popular Nigerian musician Oluwajuwonlo Iledare, widely known as Jaywon, has expressed deep disappointment with Senator Sunday Karimi, the current senator of Kogi West in the Senate. Jaywon took to his verified Facebook page, 𝗝𝗮𝘆𝘄𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗯𝗮 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗻, to criticize Karimi, who previously served as the House of Representatives member for Yagba Federal Constituency for eight years, for failing to bring meaningful development to his hometown, Egbe, and the broader Yagba West Local Government Area.

In his heartfelt post, Jaywon voiced frustration over the persistent challenges faced by his community. "It's truly sad that Senator Sunday Karimi has spent eight years in office, yet there's absolutely nothing to show for his time as a representative of his own constituency," Jaywon wrote. He highlighted the lack of progress in Egbe, noting that despite Karimi’s lengthy service, the town remains in a dire state.

Reflecting on his childhood, Jaywon recalled a time when infrastructure in Egbe was better maintained. "I remember when growing up years back in Egbe, we used to have good roads compared to now," he shared. Jaywon also criticized the abandonment of a promised power plant project, which was expected to drive development in the area.

Jaywon’s message resonated with many followers, reflecting broader frustration among residents who feel neglected by their representatives. "It’s time for real change and leadership that genuinely serves the people," Jaywon urged, calling on the youth to speak out against poor governance and demand better leadership.

As someone who grew up in both Yagba West and East of Okun land, Jaywon expressed sorrow over the lack of development in the region over the past four decades. "It’s really sad to see how little has changed," he remarked, stressing the need for new leadership to bring about meaningful progress in Yagba West Local Government.

Jaywon's post has sparked conversations about accountability and effective leadership in Nigeria, particularly in regions that have long been overlooked.

Open Letter Condemning the Betrayal of Chief Edward Onoja by Sunday Faleke

It is with deep regret that we find ourselves compelled to address the recent actions of Sunday Faleke, an Okun son, who has shown a profound lack of loyalty and gratitude toward Chief Edward Onoja and the Igala community as a whole. It is indeed disheartening to witness such a betrayal, especially from someone who has been given every opportunity to succeed, thanks to the benevolence of our own leader, Chief Edward Onoja.

Since 2015 Chief Edward Onoja has placed his trust in Sunday Faleke, empowering him above the sons of Igala land as Special Assistant to the Governor and further promoted to the Deputy Chief of Staff. This trust and opportunity were extended with the hope that Faleke would act in the best interest to grow and empower his people, standing by the side of those who have supported him. However, Faleke's actions during the 2023 Kogi State governorship election have shown otherwise.

It has come to our attention that Sunday Faleke, instead of remaining loyal to Chief Edward Onoja, chose to betray him by selling out confidential information, including chats, plans, and discussions, to former Governor H.E. Yahaya Bello. Such an act of betrayal cannot and should not be tolerated, especially when it comes from someone who owes his political career to the support of an Igala leader.

To add insult to injury, it has been made clear that Sunday Faleke has been rewarded for his betrayal by being appointed as the Kogi State Commissioner for Special Duties. This appointment, orchestrated by a pseudo-former governor of Kogi State, further highlights the depth of his disloyalty and ungratefulness.

Moreover, Sunday Faleke's refusal to publicly congratulate Chief Edward Onoja on his recent appointment as Federal Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) and on his 50th birthday is a glaring omission. It is a clear sign of disrespect not only to Chief Onoja but to the entire Igala community.

As the youth of Igala land, we cannot stand idly by while such disloyalty and betrayal go unchecked. We hereby condemn the ungrateful attitude of Sunday Faleke and call on him to desist from his current path of betrayal, ingratitude, and disloyalty.

The Igala youth will continue to stand strong, united, and unwavering in our support for those who have consistently shown their commitment to our people. We will not allow the actions of one ungrateful individual to tarnish the legacy of our leaders or the integrity of our community.

Sincerely,

Ilemona Ochalifu

𝕯𝖊𝖆𝖗 𝕲𝖔𝖛𝖊𝖗𝖓𝖔𝖗 𝖀𝖘𝖒𝖆𝖓 𝕺𝖉𝖔𝖉𝖔,

As a concerned Kogite and member of the Kabba community, I am writing to urgently address the troubling situation in our area. Kabba is in distress following the abduction of three aides of the Kabba/Bunu CTC Chairman, Barrister Dare Zacheaus, and two Kogi State University students on August 2nd, while they were traveling on the Kabba-Okene expressway.

We are grateful to God Almighty for the swift release of the Chairman, but we are deeply troubled that three of his aides and the two students remain in captivity. Today marks the eighth day of their ordeal, causing significant suffering for their families, friends, and the entire Kabba community.

These individuals are valued members of our community, and their ongoing captivity underscores the urgent need for increased intervention. We urge you to intensify efforts to ensure their immediate and safe release.

We appreciate your ongoing efforts to combat insecurity, but we believe more needs to be done. We call on you to enhance the response of the Kogi State government and security agencies to address this pressing issue.

Additionally, we urge the implementation of long-term strategies to tackle the root causes of insecurity in our state to prevent such incidents in the future. The safety of our state must be a top priority.

The Kabba people are ready to support any initiative that will lead to the safe return of our abducted members and improve overall security in Kabba.

We trust you will act decisively to resolve this situation.

Thank you for your immediate attention.

Yours sincerely,

OFFICIAL DECLARATION TO RUN FOR THE POSITION OF KABBA BUNU LOCAL GOVERNMENT CHAIRMAN

Within the past few weeks, I undertook a consultation journey across the length and breadth of Kabba/Bunu Local Government. From Kiri, Ofere, and Osomule down to the College of Agriculture, from Olle down to Edumo, from Obele down to Kabba town, and from Agbede down to FGGC, I witnessed our local government's convergence of strengths and potentials. Our hardworking farmers, teachers, local government workers, businessmen, and laborers all have stories to tell. They all seek an alternative to this government, clamoring to see things done differently.

My journey is my first response to the call of our people to lead the struggle for change in governance. Our people are tired of irresponsible and insensitive governance.

Time and again, new generations have risen up and achieved what seemed impossible. In this state of hopelessness, depression, arrogant use of power, percentage salary payments, and unaccountability, we are called upon to bring hope.

That is our unyielding resolve—that in the face of impossible odds, fear of electoral malpractices, intimidation, and recklessly corrupt local government administration, we stand firm.

Honourable Muritala Ajaka understood this. He had his doubts and reservations, and faced temporary setbacks. But through his *will* and his *words*, he started a journey of liberation, igniting a movement that reinforced our collective resolve to continue on the path of emancipation. To take his message of hope and liberation to our dear local government.

We know the challenges. We've heard them, analyzed and reanalyzed them. We've talked about them for months now.

The achievement of our collective aspiration and passionate yearning for an accountable, responsive, and responsible governance system depends on the active participation of an awakened electorate.

Motivated by the fact that we can provide workable solutions to these problems we discuss daily, and energized by Honourable Muritala Ajaka's powerful liberation journey, I aim to play a small part in building a better, people-oriented system of governance in Kabba/Bunu.

So, what exactly are we doing differently?

Our consensual understanding is to shift from this inexplicable style of governance to a more accountable system.

Primary healthcare will receive the needed attention, ensuring that nobody in Kabba/Bunu has to travel more than four kilometers to receive basic healthcare, regardless of where they reside.

My mission is to oversee a local government that will deploy an intelligent, proactive, and preventive approach in tackling insecurity, instead of the reactionary style that has taken us nowhere. This can be achieved by improving our intelligence capabilities.

We need to clearly define youth empowerment by ensuring that everyone willing to work can receive *job training* that leads to employment and enables them to become employers of labor.

Collectively, we can invest in agriculture through subsidized rental of agricultural equipment, turning our local government into the food basket of the state. Mechanization and modern-day farming are possible with sincerity of purpose.

My policy on education is simple: to ensure that all schools in the basic education system, irrespective of location, have the resources to provide minimum quality standards of education for school-age children, through adequate teaching materials, trained teachers, and essential physical infrastructure conducive to learning.

The demonic institutionalization of percentage salary payments will never happen under my watch. Instead, a better welfare package for the workers and periodic training to engender better output will be in place.

As partners in progress and drivers of our administration's goals, respect for both our traditional and religious institutions is inevitable.

Most importantly, the promotion and protection of fundamental human rights will be my guiding principle. Nobody will be oppressed, intimidated, or harassed for holding contrary opinions.

Consequent to the foregoing and in response to the yearning of our people, I, Sesere Job Monday, have decided to run for the office of Local Government Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government in the forthcoming Local Government Elections, under the platform of the *Social Democratic Party (SDP)*. I make this declaration with the highest sense of responsibility. What I request from you, our dear citizens, is that you join me in this historic venture, as I do not pretend to possess the ability to do this alone. With God on our side and with your support, I will not fail you.

God bless Kabba/Bunu Local Government.

*SESERE JOB MONDAY*
