Dr. Bolanle Elizabeth Arokoyo Launches Book "Owe Bilingual Dictionary"

Dr. Bolanle Elizabeth Arokoyo,  a lecturer at the department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages, University of Ilorin, Ilorin,  Kara State on Saturday 30th September 2017 launched her book “ Owe Bilingual Dictionary "
The event which took place at the Kapital Club Asokoro, Abuja had in attendance, the member House of Representatives, Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Hon. Teejay Yusuf, Prof. Olu Obafemi, FNAL, Dr. Emmanuel Obafemi, Registrar University of Ilorin and Sam Raphael Arokoyo, a successful business man.  
Those also in attendance are Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, a veteran Journalist and the book reviewer, Mr.  Ben Owoleke and many other dignitaries from Owe land who travel from home and abroad to grace the event. 
The Chairman of the event Prof. Olu Obafemi FNAL described the book as a timely effort in response to the yearnings of culture and language enthusiasts for a dictionary. He said the study is germane at this point when many Nigerian and African languages are going into extinction. 

Hon. Teejay Yusuf who also double as the Chief launcher commend the effort of the author for propagating and promoting the Owe dialect while assuring the author and participants that the book will be aired on one of the National TV in the local government and the state for a period of one year.

The special guest of honour, Dr. Emmanuel Obafemi also commend the author for a wonderful work and promised to refer the book to the University of Ilorin authority and other universities across the country. He said the book will serve as a rallying and reference point for unborn generation in Owe land. 

While making his presentation at the event,  the book reviewer Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan said Owe Bilingual Dictionary by Dr Bolanle Elizabeth Arokoyo (Nee Baiyere) represents the quick fixes for every Owe parental gaffes. This book has arrived at the nick to time to help our children acquire the use of Owe as first or second language of communication.

On a final note,  Mr. Ben Owoleke thanked all the participants for coming and urges everyone to always promote Owe dialect wherever they found themselves.
He said the book is one of the monumental historical achievement of Owe people of Kogi  State.
