Critic says Kogi Speaker sent thugs to attack him.

A major critic of Kogi State Speaker, Dr Tolu Omotugba narrowly escaped assassination in Lokoja but was brutally beaten up and hospitalized.

Omotugba was attacked at his "one corner" restaurant in Lokoja by unknown assailants, numbering about 5, who came in as customers to patronize him.

The assailants came with dangerous weapons which they used in attacking him.

Tolu Omotugba claimed that Speaker of Kogi State House of assembly, Hon. Kolawole Mathew was behind the attack as he earlier threatened to attack him.

He said he has a voice recording of his conversation with the Speaker where he promised to come after him. According to him when the assailants came to my shop, the first thing they did was to forcefully  take my phone in order to delete the conversation I had with the Speaker but unknown to them, I already have a copy with a friend.

The real reason behind the attack is as a result of Tolu Omotugba opposition to Mr. Speaker directionless representation of his people Kabbba/Bunu and  his policies that are not people oriented.

Dr. Tolu Omotugba is currently receiving treatment at  an undisclosed hospital in Lokoja.
