Philantropist donates cash, foodstuffs to orphanages in Kogi


Lokoja, Sept. 8, 2018 A philantropist, Mr Bolufemi Rotimi, on Saturday made cash donations of N100, 000 and N50, 000 to MOM and Elizabeth Ohiani Orphanages in commemoration of his 50th Birthday celebration.
Our correspondent who witnessed the event reports that the philantropist also donated foodstuffs such as 50kg bags of rice, noodles, ingredients, and also paid medical bills of all the children and preemies on admission at Peadiatric and Maternity ward at Kogi Specialist Hospital.
Rotimi, who is also the Chairman and Founder of an NGO, RotShade Helplinks Foundation (RHF), said he had spent about N4 million to assist the less priviledged to comemorate his 50th birthday.
While addressing the children, the philantropist said giving to the poor and putting smiles on their faces has been part of his life, advising the fortunate citizens in the society to impact the lives of children for a better future.
He said that his own background as a child was very rough but God in his infinite mercies saw him through, adding that he would do more if given the opportunity.
Mrs Rofina Ejembi of Elizabeth Ohiani, and Mr Monday Halidu of MOM orphanages, both commended the philantropist for the gesture, assuring him that the cash and the items would be used for the intending purposes.
Halidu, who received the items onbehalf of MOM orphanage, thanked the NGO for coming to their aid, saying it would go a long way to alleviating the suffering of the children.
Mr Osheidu Moses, HOD Medical and Social Services Department, Kogi Specialist Hospital, who spoke on behalf of the CMD, commended for offseting the children’s medical bills, saying it would serve as a relief to their parents.
Our correspondent reports that the program for the 50th birthday of Rotimi, would continue in the church on Sunday, where the NGO, RotShade Helplinks Foundation, would be officially unveiled and inaugurated.
