Scores of Local Government workers in Kogi State on Tuesday in Mopa-Muro Local Government staged a marching protest against the State government Bello for non-payment of arrears of pensioners ranging from 15-32 months.
The workers lamented that they have been placed under worse conditions, adding that their lives have been worse than ever. Watch video below
The pensioners carried placards with various inscriptions such as; ‘pay us our salaries’, ‘EFCC come and rescue LG workers in Kogi’, ‘Gov. Bello pay LG pensioners their pension arrears,‘ Governor use the billions from Bailout to pay salaries’, and ‘we are dying, no money to buy drugs and pay our children school fees’.
Governor Bello who is seeking second term in office, is doing all within his reach to secure APC ticket to re-contest the November Governorship election.
