Barely eleven days to the Kogi Gubernatorial and Kogi West Senatorial election, coalition of Kogi West Senatorial Candidates for the election have stepped down their contest and endorsed Governor Yahaya Bello, his running mate, Chief Edward David Onoja  and Senator Smart Adeyemi for the Governorship and Senatorial election scheduled to hold on Saturday 16th November 2019.

The Candidates who made this known to newsmen at a joint press conference held at Lokoja, the state capital on Monday 4th November, 2019 alongside their LGA Campaign Cordinstors said their decision is informed by current political exigencies, demands of their party structure and the need to alter a one direction political reality of Kogi State since 1992 which produced successive Governors of the state from one ethnic group five uninterrupted times since the creation of the state, an act the senatorial candidates describes inequitable, unjust, unfair and demanding the concerns of all. The Candidates who says that the election of Governor Yahaya Bello has  automatically reversed the one ethnic group dominance of the gubernatorial seat and established a process for equitable power sharing that is fostering unity, fairness and equity as against the previous ethnic propensity, tribal bias and nepotism, hence his re-election will obviously stamp the present political order.
