PDP’s ATTACK ON TINUBU: LAST KICK OF A DYING HORSE

 PRESS RELEASE

Progressives Media Organisation (PMO) is utterly disgusted with statement credited to the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in which it urged the national leader of our great party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to leave Godwin Obaseki alone.

To begin with, Godwin Obaseki became a governor on the account of full signature endorsement our national leader, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Before his emergence in 2016, Obaseki was an unknown political lackey who ordinarily did not have the popularity to become a ward councilor.

While we do not wish to condescend to the gutter like the PDP, it is pertinent to state that their fear and paranoid is borne out of their impending doom in the upcoming governorship election when the last bone of their decomposed corpse would be totally swept off the soil of Edo land.

We find it a comic relief that the PDP is genuflecting and begging our national leader to leave their unpopular, tyrannical and undemocratic candidate alone when indeed it should be seeking reconciliation with the people of Edo for several years of waste it festered on them, leading to their eventual rejection when our leader, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was in 2008 elected to reverse the Augean Stable left by the PDP.

If the PDP has any moral stamina to dish out good counsel, they should look at the direction of their candidate who retreated from the path of progressive to darkness, thereby reversing the gains our great party has made in repositioning the state in the past 12 years. It is understandable that Godwin Obaseki, whose questionable academic credentials and debasingly poor performance denied our party’s ticket is being chased by desperation and inordinate ambition.

While we wish Obaseki and his new found bride that has offered him the platform to achieve his imaginary second term in his dreamland well, we must remind them that it is still fresh in the memory of the good people of Edo how their governor denied them representation by shutting out 14 of their elected lawmakers and stopped them from being sworn in to assume their constitutional functions.

It is also on record that Obaseki has continued to regale on the path of lawlessness, impunity and disregard for rule of law which his party, the PDP has carved a niche for themselves for. It is sad and unfortunate that a man who masqueraded as a democrat four years ago has now metamorphosed to such an anti-democratic terror with such audacity in a short while.

PDP may have forgotten that our national leader was one of the arrowheads that gave the military a sleepless night to ensure the return of democracy which they now toil so hard to destroy. Needless to state again that the PDP has come to its inevitable end in Edo and desperately scavenging for something to clutch unto in an effort to save its face.

It up to Edo people to decide whether to continue with a government that has so treated them with disdain and utter affront or usher in a progressive government that will offer them visionary and purposeful leadership, a government that will offer them a link with the central power and above all treat with utmost importance their security and welfare.

Lastly, we must remind Kola Ologbondiyan and his paymasters that the man he so vilifies today was in 1999 his saving grace when he rescued him from obscurity and brought him to limelight. He may have forgotten how Asiwaju during his tenure as governor personally took him round the world as a reporter in Government House and brought him to limelight. It is unAfrican to bite a finger that fed you and Ologbondiyan has shown sheer disregard to this.

Signed

Iorter Peter

National Publicity Secretary
