Attempt to declare Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu election inconclusive is illegal.

Details have emerged how some individuals have been pushing for the House of Representatives election in Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu already won by the ADC Candidate, Salman Idris to be declared inconclusive due to over-voting in some of the polling units.

The election was clearly won by Arc. Salman Idris of African Democratic Congress with 13, 867 votes to defeat his rival the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate, Mr. Kolawole Mathew, who scored 13, 605 votes.

In accordance with the 2022 electoral acts, section 51 subsection 2, states " (2) Where the number of votes cast at an election in any polling unit exceeds the number of accredited voters in that polling unit, the Presiding officer shall cancel the result of the election in that polling unit.

Therefore any attempt to go against the 2022 electoral act by INEC will amount to illegality and totally unacceptable.
