The meeting which was presided over by the Party Chairman of PDP in the Area, HON. S.O Ibrahim (aka reckless).
After a brief introduction of the members of his Executive team, the Chairman welcomed Hon T J Yusuf and his entourage to Ijumu Local Government addressing him as one of the best performing members of the House of Representatives the Federal Constituency has produced, acknowledging numerous live touching projects and programs he pioneered has part of his responsibility to his people.
HON. Ben Olorunfemi who spoke on behalf of Hon T J entourage said, his conviction to join the people’s resolve is solely because of developments and quality of contributions recorded thus far in the period under review as a member, House of Representatives. He cited several aim of why Hon. T J Yusuf Senatorial ambition will be the best thing for the District, saying, legislative experience, performance, simplicity, exposure intelligence among others. All these according to him are a panacea to quality and purposeful representation.
The atmosphere of the event became charged as the peoples representative (Hon TJ) took to the floor to address his constituent.
In his words, ” The aim of my today’s visit out of my usual visit to you my people of Ijumu LGA, is to have an interface with my party exco’s and various stakeholders of our great party (PDP), to intimate you all of my aspiration to context the next Senatorial seat of Kogi Western District come 2019.
The issues of zoning that has drawn attention significantly most recently was also addressed. He made some touching revelations that burdened the conscious of the party Executives, stakeholders and party leaders. Since 1999, Kabba-Bunu local Government out of the seven (7) local government that made up Kogi West Senatorial District has not enjoy the benefit of occupying any position binding us together as a Senator District or Okun speaking. He made a few examples, that deputy Governorship, Ministerial positions, where all produced in Yagba. Adding that even the State Chairman of the party Zoned to Kabba/Bunu was later moved to Yagba East without any notice. All these happened in a local government areas where PDP has continually received votes in the majority. Despite our consistent support and loyalty to our party (PDP).

Hon T J Yusuf expressed dissatisfaction, disappointment over what he described as sabotaging and abuse of privilege. It’s heartrending to Labour very hard just to empower youths with items;keke-napep, grounding engine, pumping machine, generator set, motorcycle and many others item that will Create financial sufficiency for youths and their families and in the end, they sell those items out in consideration of ridiculous prices.
The Senate hopeful further introduced another empowerment scheme in agriculture, in his explanation, 5000 hecter of land has been acquired in two different places to farm soya beans where youths will benefit by just going to supervise a portion of the farm on daily basis. They will not be required to work on the farm but to supervise their portion of land and ensure the workers do a thorough job he said. Similarly he explained, Green house is constructed along kabba, Okene, road that will be used to farm Tomatoes, pepper and cucumber. This scheme is purely for women, they may go to the farm to observe progress before harvest. But the most interesting part is that, women will be given unbridled access to harvest the produce either to sell or consume. Selling the produce would prepare them financially to start a business of their own.
He finally thanked them for their supports and prayers so far, as he said it has been my source of inspiration and strength.
