A situation where each day presents us with excruciatingly bitter exercise of picking up the corpses of our family members and loved ones is indicative of the trying times we have found ourselves as a nation. Most worrisome, while the blood of our compatriots have continued to dot the land and their bodies, mass-buried, no one is being held to account for the premeditated and mindless murderous missions.
The killings are too many and obviously over stretching the very flexible rope binding our corporate co-existence beyond its limit. A once peaceful country where each one used to be his brother's keeper is gradually and ingloriously metamorphosing into a land of sorrow, tears and blood and the citizens' live in palpable fear and mutual suspicion is highly unacceptable.
Beyond the fire brigade relocation of the security chiefs to the troubled spots and the issuance of condolences to the affected families by the presidency which have not in any way deterred the killer gang, we want to urge the President and relevant stakeholders in the security circle to take adequate and decisive steps that will stem the spate of the attack, knowing fully well that this suspected killer group have been rated the fourth most deadly terror group in the world.
The president must show action that the blood of each citizen spilled anywhere in the country is of utmost concern to him no matter what their religious and ethnic affinity is.
This reign of pain, sorrow, anguish and lamentation fiercely staring us with brazen guts and audacious impunity must be permanently banished to the abyss, and the time to do that is now.
