As the battle on who takes over the mantle of Kogi State leadership at the LUGARD  House draws closer, the gubernatorial candidates of all political parties in the contest are already on their drawing boards strategizing for a favourable outcome in November  2023. As campaigns are yet to  kick-start, the All Progressive Congress is gathering momentum by striving towards getting to take over the seat of power to serve the citizens of the state. And the only person who the cap fits that is focused, visionary, detribalised and empathic to the yearnings of the people of the state is Alh Ododo Ahmed Usman, who has been described by citizens as a portrait of hope, peace, unity and progress that will take the state to an enviable position.

At different fora, Kogi residents have advocated and prayed earnestly for a committed, detribalised, compassionate leader who is ready to defend the unity of the state with all his strength and might beyond 2023. Alh Ododo Ahmed Usman is a rising political star and an exceptionally talented and widely known politician in kogi central politics in particular and Kogi State in general.

Kogi Guber: Gov. Bello named preferred successor.

Governor Yahaya Bello has disclosed the person he wants to succeed him as Kogi State Governor in 2023.

He is Alh. Ahmed Usman Adodo, the Auditor General for Local Government in the state.

Bello was said to have presented Mr Adodo to a selected group APC Chieftains, Thursday evening, at the Government House, Lokoja.

Ahead of Kogi State APC governorship primary election slated to hold on the 14th of April 2023, the entire members of Okun Youth Elders Forum has unanimously endorsed Hon. Jibrin Momoh, former Kogi State Accountant General as the best candidate among others. 

Endorsing Hon. Jibrin Momoh's candidature at our just concluded Congress held today been 12th of April 2023 at Olonijola hall Kabba event centre. The Chairman of Okun Youth Elders forum by name Amb. Samuel Femi Taiwo, who spoke on behalf of other youth group said Okun Youth chose to support Hon. Jibrin Momoh as the best candidate to succeed Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello because he is the most credible and competent among other governorship candidates in Kogi State. 

His candidature is to transform Kogi State into a functional, prosperous, and secured state that will make Kogi State work for all. Amb. Samuel Femi Taiwo further said Kogi State is a cosmopolitan city of many dreams and today, it would be proper to say many dreams would be achieved under the leadership of Hon. Jibrin Momoh as the next Governor of Kogi State by the special grace of God.

There are no perfect situations except the people who make it right. This is a truism for all. However, we are convinced of many possibilities Kogi State hold. The question we continue to ask ourselves is who can make it happen for Kogi Sate.

Hon. Jibrin Momoh will transform Kogi State to the next enviable heights and it's many peculiarities having been on ground as a true son of Kogi State. The Chairman of this group further note that this is why we have come together as the leaders of different youth groups in Okun land to throw our weights behind the candidature of Hon. OKUN YOUTHS LEADERS APPEALS TO APC ASPIRANTS TO STEP DOWN FOR SMART ADEYEMI

The Okun Youths Social Cultural group has appealed to other APC governoship aspirants to form coalition in support of Senator Smart Adeyemi. The group also called on the National Leadership of APC to give room for transparency and fairness in the April 14th governoship primaries. 

The leader of the group, Asiwaju Olowosayo Sunday made this  appeal in Lokoja on Wednesday, stating the importance of this forthcoming election to the people of Kogi State,as "it is a test to foster unity and consolidate on  our ethnic diversity for inclusiveness, fairness and equity in governance" 

"It is our strong belief that the best of achievement of our Governor His Excellency Yahaya Bello is to build on his existing achievement by  allowing candidates for Kogi West to run for this race. Power rotation is not only for inclusiveness but also for even and distributive development across the state"  Olowosayo opined. 

"The task will be more easier for  the governor if other aspirants in Kogi West can adopt a single candidate that is experienced, politically versatile and has good track record. We have objectively assessed all the aspirants in APC Kogi West and everyone one of them is perfectly qualified for the position, however, certain traits makes Senator Smart Adeyemi stand out as the candidate can only be one person,we appeal for understanding of the other aspirants to reach compromise and allow Sen Smart Adeyemi run for this race at the primary election" Olowosayo expressed.

It is very important to state also,that the leadership of APC should give room for transparency and fairness in the primary election so as to avoid controversy that may slim the chance of Kogi West" He added.

The house of representatives member, Yagba Federal Constituency, Chairman House Committee on Custom and ADC Governorship Aspirant, Hon. Leke Abejide, has commended Chief James Abiodun Faleke for upholding rotation of governorship and power shift to Kogi Western Senatorial district of the state.

Leke, who spoke through one of his social media handle, described himself as one of the apostle of power shift, saying the support for a Kogi West Governorship had nothing to do with political parties but the unity and oneness of Kogi State.

The second term lawmaker who is also running for governorship and had picked his governorship nomination forms under the platform of African Democratic Congress, ADC weeks ago, also come from the western senatorial district of the state.

" I want to lend my voice in support to the calls made by Rt Hon James Abiodun Faleke that Governorship seat be zoned to Kogi West Senatorial District in the spirit of FAIRNESS, EQUITY AND JUSTICE.

Checking their success stories in been the Governor of Kogi State, it has been Kogi West that made it happened. Why must will be treated as third citizens in our own State?

Every Kogi West person is not a bastard, not a coward and not stupid for not knowing what is his or her right but we are only been very considerate to allow our brothers from Kogi East and Central have their way first but it is payback time for both Senatorial Districts to reciprocate our kind gestures to them after all the old adage if it is still relevant in today’s World says”the patient dog eats the fattest bone “ but it seems now the patient dog has nothing left to eat!

I want to crave the indulgence of our brothers and sisters in APC/PDP/ADC voting in the Guber primary elections to look deep and choose the best Aspirants within their political parties to pick a candidate of Kogi West extraction. This is the first step which is the most important aspect of the struggle. If that is done, we can all sit down and choose who to support and give bloc votes across the 7 LGAs and I am sure our brothers and sisters who are very objective and considerate will give us support in both Kogi East and Kogi Central.

A socio-political organisation whose contributions to the victory of the president elect of the federal republic of Nigeria, Bisimilahi Tinubu/Shettima Support Group has endorsed and plea with the President Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke as his Chief of Staff due to his capacity and for the fact that he is the most capable fellow that suits that sensitive position, the group endorsed Rt. Hon. Faleke as its preferred candidate for the position of the Chief of Staff.

According to Engr. Babatunde Obadofin, the group National Deputy Coordinator say's that the group did not only worked tirelessly for the victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the president elect of Nigeria but they have overtime study's the activities of every leaders in the campaign train during the campaign period and they have seeing that he Rt. Kogi Gov’ship: Progressive Forum of Young Academic staff, Endorse AlH MOMOH JUBRIL (JBEST)

Progressive forum of Young Academic Staff from across the twenty one local government areas have endorsed Alh Momoh Jubril popularly known as AG as the ideal candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the November 11 governorship election in Kogi state.

Speaking at the end of the monthly meeting of the Forum in Lokoja on Saturday, the group said they are convinced that Alh Jubril will make the state proud as Governor.

The convener of the Academic Forum Stephen Tafu, said the Forum, drawn from the 21 LGAs in the state are genuinely convinced that Jubril integrity and proven capacity gives him an edge above other aspirants.

“Alh Momoh Jubril( JBEST) is a vibrant, progressive, energetic, experienced, charismatic and trusted leader. His achievements and loyalty to the New direction family is peerless  and if given the opportunity to serve, Kogi state will witness tremendous advancement.

Momoh Jubril will consolidate on Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello’s achievements and deliver to us the Kogi state of our dreams,” he said.

The convener expressed gratitude to Governor bello for creating avenues for People with great capacity to thrive and unleash their potentials.

He noted that the level of youth inclusion in Kogi state, under Governor Bello, is second to none, adding that this had a great effect on their socioeconomic development.

“No doubt, the continuity of a resourceful, intelligent and  youthful Governor is a way forward for an onward Kogi state,” he added.

He appealed, on behalf of JBEST Support Group, to APC stakeholders, delegates and Governor Yahaya Bello to consider the future of  the State by electing Alh Momoh Jubril as the governorship candidate of the party.

In his word, The Coordinator of the  Forum said, “He has a clear chance of picking APC sole ticket to contest November Kogi governorship election. 

Governor Yahaya Bello has done so much for the state and we felt another young person be given the opportunity to succeed him as Governor of the state.
