Hon. Leke Abejide commiserates with Tawari community over attack.

The Yagba House of Representatives member, Elder Leke Abejide has condoled with the members of Tawari community over last week’s attack that led to deaths,several people wounded and loss of properties.

Hon. Leke said in statement in Abuja that he condemned the attack and the killing of people, who were incidentally prominent members of Tawari.

Describing the incident as sad and pathetic, Leke said: “i sympathise and identify with the the victim, the family of the deceased and the entire community.

" I, Rt Hon Leke Abejide condemns in totality the act of barbaric killing, maiming and destruction of properties in Tawari in Kogi LGA of Kogi State"

He said, in a motion on the security challenges along Abuja-Lokoja Highway on 17th December, 2019, he had mention that security should be tightened in the State and Abuja because these barbarians live around the area except only we want to deceive ourselves.

It is better to be proactive than reactive after the damage had been done. As a result of the heat on the bandits along the Road they now want to result to attacking villages and towns within the area, he said.

My heart goes to those who lost their loved ones in that unfortunate incident. I pray Almighty God.

All Progressive Congress stalwart and former Kogi West Senatorial Candidate, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi mnipr has called on the people of Kogi State to overwhelmingly support Governor Yahaya Bello in his drive to move the state forward in 2020, he made the call in a new year message sent to the people of Kogi State.  Omoluabi says that Governor Yahaya Bello means well for the welfare of the people and infrastructural development of every part of the state. He noted that all that is required is for political leaders, religious institutions, traditional rulers, stakeholders and indeed the people of Kogi State to give him the needed support for development to happen.



He says an overview of Governor Yahaya Bello's first term shows a deliberate government drive to banish ethnicity, nepotism and tribal suspicion that have held the state down. He says the appointment of government officials, citing of key infrastructural projects and day to day business of government reflects fairness, equity and even spread, a noticeable trend that eluded tge state since creation until the arrival of Governor Yahaya Bello. The statement says the Governor through the citing of Rice Mill in Kogi West, electrifications in the east, roads in central,  the SDGs intervention  primary schools remodelling, Kogi Revenue House and several other projects have demonstrated statesmanship, leadership, responsiveness and development in every part of the state.



Omoluabi says that the Governor therefore requires the prayers,solidarity and support of everyone to drive the state forward, he says that the time of politics is over and what is needed now is working together as Kogites to succeed.

TAWARI INVASION: A wicked manifestation of Man's inhumanity to Man, we stand with the people at this trying time-Chief Olowodola

Businessman, philanthropist and foremost Kogi West APC Leader, Chief Benjamin Olowodola has comiserated with the Governor of Kogi state, Alh. Yahaya Bello, The Aguma of Tawari, Alh Yusuf Tawari and the entirety of the Tawari community over the unfortunate and dastardly act of midnight killing of innocent people in their sleep, burning of houses and property in such a wanton dimension. Chief Olowodola made the statement in a press release made available over the weekend, stressing that until this unfortunate occurrence, Kogi People have been enjoying relative peace, security and sleeping with their two eyes closed, as a result of huge investment and deliberate actions the government of Alh Yahaya Bello has taken on security matters since his election in 2016.


Chief Olowodola says the latest attack is a manifestation of Man's inhumanity to Man and wicked attempt to draw Kogi back in the area of security,  he therefore condemn the attack in its entirety and demand the security agents to fish out the perpetrators of such dastardly act. He says all stakeholders must join hands with the government to ensure that the trend is nipped in the bud.


*I feel very devastated and sad to hear news of such gruesome attack on the innocent and peaceful people of Tawari community leading to the death of nineteen innocent souls, burning of the palace of Aguma, houses in the community and essential properties. While I like to commiserate with His Excellency the Governor,  my friend, the Aguma and the entire Tawari people at this trying moment, I condemn in strongest term, such wickedness, destruction and killing, I have known Tawari people to be peace loving, hardworking and very friendly, I have come to identify with the people over the years, I have been a partner in their community development, I have invested in helping to build their public school and have enjoined great relationship with the King who is my personal friend, I can therefore say that Tawari, like any other community in Kogi West and indeed Kogi State is my home. Hearing such a sad news about the community is most devastating. I commiserate with the entire community in this trying time and promise to be with them in the process of rebuilding the destroyed places. It is important that I place it on record that the government of Alh Yahaya Bello has done brilliantly well in securing lives and properties, his administration since inception in 2016 has invested heavily in security and has reduced to invisible level, the security situation, there used to be a time when almost all banks were afraid to open for business in Okunland because armed robbery was a daily occurrence, when kidnapping was an almost daily happening but Governor Yahaya Bello changed the tide and people can now go about their normal business,  we believe the Tawari incidence will be well handled and security apparatus put on alert to forestall the activities of wicked people trying to cause mayhem*


The Elder statesman also advice every people of good conscience and goodwill to join hands with the government to ensure that our youths are gainfully employed or have an entrepreneurial skill to take their minds away from crimes. He said the Youth Empowerment & Skills Acquisitions Centre he personally built in Kabba was envisioned to train thousands of youths who are currently not employable, he says the centre gulped millions of naira but he decided to build it for public use out of his desire and dreams to assist young people to find fulfilment and source of income in life.

New Year: Leke Abejide empowers constituents with Grinding Machine, Sewing Machine, Bikes and Tricycle (Keke napep)

In continuation of his charity works that predates his entry into politics, which has benefitted over 1,500 constituents cut across political party lines, the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency of Kogi State in the National Assembly, Hon(Eld) Leke Abejide has celebrated the new year with Presentation of empowerment materials to men, women leaders and youth leaders of the three council areas under the constituency- Yagba West, East and Mopa/Muro for their unflinching support, mobilisation and prayers.

Hon. Leke Abejide in his brief remark, noted that the new year presentation was in fulfillment of his personal vow to God to give back to society and carry everyone along in his life and success.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) lawmaker clarified that the items is to assist the beneficiaries to be self reliant and hardworking, he said the exercise was in continuation of his years of empowerment programme and promised that more will follow.

Among the items distributed to the lucky supporters were Tricycle(Keke napep), sewing machines, grinding machines, Motorcycles, bags of rice and even cash gifts.

Leke charged the beneficiaries to be magnanimous, he assured those who did not receive any item during the ceremony that they would benefit in due course.

People of the Constituency have described the lawmaker as a man with a large heart, describing him as an embodiment of what a representative should be.

Yagba Free WAEC Project, Leke Abejide To Commence Presentation Of Bank Draft To All Schools.

This is to inform the general public that the final bank draft presentation of West African Examination Council (WAEC) for 2019/2020 payment by LEKE ABEJIDE FOUNDATION ably supervised by Hon. Asiwaju Leke Abejide member representing Yagba federal constituency have experienced a little change of date due to some reasons beyond our control.

The Director-General of the Foundation Hon. Shola Adebola regrets to announce that a new date has been scheduled for the bank draft presentation to all schools and colleges around Yagba Federal Constituency.

The new dates for the presentation have been scheduled to be from 23rd-25th of January 2020.

All school principals across the constituency should be informed about the new dates as previous dates for presentation of bank drafts to schools has experienced little change.

More also, on the dates of presentation, we urge all Parents and Guardians to be present alongside their children and wards who are beneficiaries of this year's WAEC payment.

'Fish out perpetrators of Tawari overnight attack', Gov Bello directs security agencies

The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has called for calm among residents of Tawari Town in Kogi/Koto Karfe Local Government Area of the State, where suspected militia reportedly burnt down the palace of a third class chief, Alhaji Yusuf Idris.

In a statement by the Governor's Chief Press Secretary, Mr Onogwu Muhammed, Bello has immediately directed security agencies to swing into action and ensure those who carried out the dastardly act faced the law.

The governor condemned the incident and warned that anyone who want to cause crisis in the state would have himself to blame, assuring that his administration would do everything to protect life and property of the people of the state.

Governor Bello, therefore, urged the people to be calm and law abiding, while assuring them of the determination of his Administration to flush out bandits and criminals out of Kogi State.

Faleke Assures Nigerians Of Better Days Ahead In New Year Message

The Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Finance, Honourable James Abiodun Faleke has assured Nigerians of good days ahead in 2020

He gave his words in a new year message by his media aide on Thursday.

Hon. Faleke also reiterated the commitment of the National Assembly in passing legislation that would better a lot of the people, especially in areas of economy and security.

He added, “Progress of Nigeria’s economy, security and welfare of Nigerians must remain our priority in the new year.

“As a people, we must continue to imbibe the spirit of togetherness and love for one another. We must also support government at all levels by contributing our quota in the generation of wealth and alleviation of poverty in the land.

This he noted would help in strengthening the bonds of unity, solidarity, and peace within the populace.

Hon. Faleke also thank Ikeja Constitutuents for their display of love and support during his 60 years birthday on the 25th December last year alongside his supperters from Kogi State.

Hon. Faleke said the leadership of the National Assembly is working with the executive in ensuring that 2020 is better while he wish all his supporters across the country a prosperous new year.

Tinubu Hails James Abiodun Faleke At 60

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has hailed Rep. James Faleke for his contributions to the development of Lagos State.

In a statement on his 60th Birthday anniversary, signed by his Media Adviser, Mr Tunde Rahman, Tinubu on Tuesday, described Faleke as a natural leader with passion, determination to excel and make a difference in people’s lives.

Tinubu noted that Faleke’s political influence radiated through Lagos and Kogi States.

He said that at three scores, Faleke had done well and etched his name in gold.

The APC leader said that as a pioneer and two-term Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area, Faleke contributed his quota toward the development of the state and beyond through the provision of infrastructure and other amenities.

“He also proved pivotal to his party’s victory in the last election.

“My prayer is that God grant you many more years, good health and renewed energy to continue to contribute to national development,” Tinubu said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Faleke was a deputy governorship candidate to late Prince Abubakar Audu in the 2015 election.

He was also the Chairman, House Committee on Anti-Corruption 2011-2015 and Chairman, House Committee on Customs and Excise 2015-2019.

Faleke is presently a third term member of the House of Representatives and Chairman, Committee on Finance.

In the history of Yagba Federal Constituency, the people can boldly say no representative has achieved or ever built the political hallmark, Hon. Leke is building right now.

Hon. Leke Abejide begets the real qualities of a good leader, he has appointed about Sixty Two (62) political aides and also inaugurated them to start their functions and roles immediately.

This is to assist him in delivering the dividends of democracy and reaching out to people at the grassroots effectively more than before.

The media assistant to the lawmaker, Ibukun Abraham said the appointment cut across all the wards with Yagba Federal Constituency.
