2023 Poll: *APC North Central Youths to embark on regional political evangelism  to enlist more youths into the APC for the emergence of Tinubu as Nigeria's President*

 - APC National Youth Mobilization, North Central Director.

The 2023 general election in Nigeria will be a time for each regions of the country to showcase its capacity to mobilise members of the party and the general public to rally round our presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other candidates to ensure a resounding victory for the party.

This, the youths of the North Central region of the country assures it will do without reservation.

North Central Nigeria is a region also known as the Middle Belt, and composed of Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, and the Federal Capital Territory, it is a region that is not only vibrant, but it has a youth population that is focused, energetic and 100 percent loyal to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Asiwaju Tinubu presidential ambition.

They will stop at nothing to ensure that he would not only come out tops in the 2023 election across the zone, but come out with such a resounding victory that will put to rest the ambitions of other candidates to score 25 percent vote in any of the states in the region.

Our party, the APC continues to appreciate the relevance of the youth population which is a major asset in the North Central, as can be seen from how they have helped the security agencies to fight insecurity in the region and bring insurgencies to its knees, while not forgetting the roles played by the youths in removing opposition from power in states like Kwara and Kogi, we assure that with the same zeal we will work to ensure victory for our party, not only at the presidential election, but at all levels.

We want to assure you that the youths are conscious of the challenges facing this country and the efforts of the present administration to address many of such challenges. It is important to ensure that efforts of this government are not derailed. So, the enthronement of a government that will continue most of the programmes in its agenda, and improve on areas it may not have fully met the expectations of the people is what the youth wants and will work to achieve.

Shettima's unveiling was an open event, including for clergymen

THE Tinubu Campaign Organisation has described as unwarranted distractions the viral pictures and videos of some Christian clergymen and women at the unveiling of the All Progressives Congress Vice presidential candidate, Senator KASHIM SHETTIMA, on Wednesday in Abuja.

APC formally presented Senator Shettima to the public and its various organs as the running mate to the party's presidential

standard-bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, at the well-attended ceremony at Shehu Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja.

At the unveiling, Asiwaju Tinubu and Senator Shettima, Governors Fayemi and Bagudu and party chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, in their speeches addressed fundamental issues of nation building which APC and our candidates are focused on delivering, so we can have a progressive and prosperous nation where all citizens can find joy and fulfilment.

The TCO  through its Director of Media and Communication, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, said the event was an open affair, which allowed members of the public to attend, including the  clergymen and some others now being derided by hirelings of the opposition.

"We want to say that those clergymen were not fake, not mechanics or yam sellers  as the purveyors of hatred have made Nigerians to believe in the social media. They are not big names in Christendom yet, they are gradually building up their missions.

"They are church leaders who genuinely believe that Nigerians must eschew politics of hatred and religious bigotry and rather embrace politics of peace and nation building.

"We therefore deplore the hysterical twisting of the presence of these men and women in cassocks and the false  accusation against our candidates, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Shettima.

"The orchestrated social media sensation over the presence of the men is needless and all calculated to detract from the huge success recorded at the momentous event on Wednesday.

"We believe Nigerians are too wise and discerning to see through this shenanigan. Asiwaju Tinubu and his running mate and our great party are working very hard to provide purposeful leadership and good progressive governance that will improve the quality of life of Nigerians.

"We are well aware that the opposition parties and the sponsors of the social media charade are jittery and threatened by the intimidating political credentials of our candidates. The only way they hope to shift attention of public scrutiny away from their uninspiring candidates and credentials is to create social media distraction.

"Our campaign is determined on focusing on core governance issues that affect all Nigerians with a view to confronting them and make the desired improvements in the standard of living of our people."

MY DEEP APPRECIATION TO PRESIDENT BUHARI-TINUBU

Dear Mr President,

DEEP APPRECIATION

I bring you sincere fraternal greetings and congratulations on the successful conclusion of the special Presidential Convention of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

On behalf of my wife, Oluremi, and my entire family, I want to express my sincere gratitude for the very special and personal congratulatory letter you sent to me. I am deeply honored. Your words in that letter were reassuring, reenergizing, and reinvigorating.

Your Excellency, one must admire the sense of purpose, composure, and maturity you demonstrated in the weeks and months preceding the primary elections of our great party. As aspirants and party leaders, we all pleaded with you to “choose” your successor.

Naturally, this is expected especially in African democracy. Up until the 6th of June, 2022, the day of the APC Presidential primaries, the whole of Nigeria, including myself, was waiting for you to announce your preferred candidate. All of us thought and believed this was a very simple matter.

However, it was only as the primary went into the night and as the candidates walked up to the podium and spoke that I fully and truly appreciated your position and stance to be neutral and non-aligned to any of us. As the first person to speak, I also had the special vantage point to carefully hear, without any distraction, what the other candidates had to say.

As the hours rolled by that evening, it became clear to me that all of us were your preferred candidates. As you captured it aptly in your letter to me, the “spirit” of 2013 and 2014 when we created and built APC was there for all to see.

In your letter and in our many meetings over the years, you fondly reminisced on fraternal attitude in the days and months before and after formation of the APC, when we all worked day and night to create, sustain and nurture our nascent movements into a credible opposition party and ultimately, become the ruling party. That time, no one spoke about tribe; no one spoke about religion. That was not what drove us. We were driven by a common desire to save and transform Nigeria.

One by one, I saw my colleagues and partners stand on the podium, full of the same passion and patriotic zeal they had in 2013/2014, presenting their ideas on how to build on your successful legacy. Back then, as it is now, we were from all parts of the country, all tribes, and all religions. We all had deep personal and strong bonds with you. We were together back then and our bonds remained strong up till now.

Mr. President, as the night of 6 June turned to morning of 7 June, I fully understood and appreciated your stance. “You belonged to everybody in the party and you belonged to none of the individual candidates of the party.” A true leader, brother and friend.

Mr. President, the delegates from all over the country nominated my humble self to be their candidate. I must acknowledge that my nomination would not have become a reality without your support and that of the party leaders across the country. Indeed, as I reflect on my political journey, most of the 2022 APC presidential aspirants, members of the Progressive Governors Forum and National Assembly leaders and members all had a role to play in my successes and achievements thus far.

I will forever be grateful to them for shaping my political journey over the decades. I want to assure you that I will continue to work with them going forward. My emergence as a candidate is also a victory for them.

I have met most of them in the past few days and will continue these engagements as we plan for the general elections. Mr. President, APC is united and will remain united as we move towards the general elections.

I have taken note of the message you sent to all Presidential Candidates in your Democracy Day speech to the nation on the 12th June, 2022. Our country is going through a very sensitive period and no one should put their personal desires above and beyond the nation’s peace and prosperity. As you said, the “message we set at the top will be replicated in our followers.” At this point, I will take this opportunity to assure Your Excellency of my commitment to running an issue focused campaign as we move into the general elections. I will personally engage the candidates from other political parties to urge them to do same. Voters should elect us based on our policies, programmes,  and projects. By the grace of God, we as candidates will avoid having divisive, destructive and disruptive campaigns.

I will conclude by once again thanking you for being there for all of us. By the grace of God and with your leadership, guidance and support, I am confident that we will lead our great party, the APC,  to victory in the February 2023 general elections. We will ride on the back of your successes. We will build on the foundations of transparency and integrity which you have laid.

Mr President, together, side by side, in the spirit of 2014, we will win and Nigeria will move forward to a progressive, peaceful and prosperous future.

2023: Ebonyi people ‘ll vote Tinubu, not Peter Obi, Labour Party — Umahi declares

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, Monday stressed that Ebonyi people will not vote for Labour Party, LP, in the 2023 general election in the State.

Umahi stated this during the swearing in ceremony of five Commissioners and two Special Assistant, SA, into his cabinet including 6 Development Center Coordinators at the Exco chambers of the new Government House, Abakaliki.

The Governor insisted that the state will vote only for the All Progressives Congress APC and urged the people not to vote for the Labour Party during the election.

According to him, the votes of the State only belong to the ruling APC.

We will not vote for Labour Party, we will only vote for APC. Our vote is for APC and not for Labour Party. Our agenda is Ebonyi agenda. We will vote for our Presidential candidate in the person of Tinubu. We must strive to liberate Ebonyi State and that is our agenda”.

The Newly appointed Commissioners took over from the their predecessors who last month resigned different positions in Government to contest the 2023 general election.

The Newly sworn in Commissioners include, Mr. Celestine Nwali who is expected to take over from Barr. Onyekachi Nwaebonyi as Commissioner for Capital Territory Development, Chief Mattias Adum takes over the ministry of Lands and Survey while Chief Romanus Nwasum is to oversee the Ministry of Infrastructural Development for Concession.

Others include, Chief Chris Uchaji, Ministry of Solid Mineral Development, Mrs. Beatrice Eze, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Chief Chuks Okoh, Special Assistant on Strategy while Mr. Uchenna Otu, Special Assistant on Transport.

The State Governor while addressing the appointees and other stakeholders frowned at the low rate of participation in the ongoing voter registration in the state and directed the stakeholders to brace up and ensure that people get registered before June 30.

“It is very unfortunate that the different local government areas in the state are yet to witness high turnout of voters registration in the State, apart from Afikpo South that has so far registered over 71000 voters, others are yet to make any meaningful impact”.
