FALEKE PAYS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO LATE JIBRIL’S FAMILY PROMISES TO TAKE OVER HIS POLITICAL STRUCTURE

The Deputy governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), in the 2015 Kogi governorship election, Hon. James Faleke, on Saturday joined the growing list of eminent personalities and dignitaries who have visited the Lokoja home of the late Hon. Umar Buba Jibril, member representing Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency to sign the condolence register and condole with the family.
Faleke, in the condolence register, said the late Jibril was one of the foremost and dedicated leaders Kogi State had produced.
“Hon. Buba’s death is a bitter pill to swallow for my family and I, for the Audu/Faleke Political Organization, his constituents, the National Assembly, Kogi State and indeed the entire nation.
“He was such an honest, principled and disciplined politician whose interest at all times was the progress and development of Kogi State. He would sacrifice his personal comfort to realize ends aimed at the greater good of his people. He was a philanthropist.
“How could I ever forget the heroic role you played fighting for justice all through the 2015 electoral saga in Kogi State. You shunned the lure of filthy lucre and stood resolutely on the side of the majority of Kogites who believe that the Audu/Faleke Group was robbed of the Governorship position in the State. You never waivered for a second! You held on as a good soldier of conscience till the end, never betraying the trust of the people you faithfully led.
“Nigeria has indeed lost one of her leading lights.
“May the good Lord grant your soul eternal repose. And may Allah grant your family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
“Adieu! Great Leader, Great Friend!!!
Earlier, he took a walk to Kabawa Muslim cementary where the late Jibril was buried and offered special prayers for the deceased at his tomb.
Faleke, who later spoke with the widows of the deceased, and some other family members prayed that the gentle soul of the deceased remains in peace.
Recall that Hon. Jibril died in the early hours of Friday, March 30, at Abuja, after a protracted illness.
Until his death, he was the deputy majority leader of the House of Representatives.
