Exposed! Kogi Speaker embezzles Money meant for logistics of Obaro Visit to Governor Bello.

THE LEAKAGES has reliably gathered that the Kogi State Speaker Prince Kolawole Mathew has diverted money meant for the traveling logistics of the newly crowned Obaro of Kabba and his large entourage who visited the Governor in his Country home Okene on Tuesday.

The Governor who was said to have commended the choice of Oba Otitoleke Oweyomade as Obaro of Kabba welcome the people who came in their large numbers along with the monarch to Okene to show appreciation to the Governor.

After the visit, the Speaker who was said to have led the monarch and the people to the Governor was handed undisclosed amount of money packaged in two black leather bags as logistics for the Monarch and his people’s visit to Okene.

It was however reported that on getting to Kabba, the money in the two black leather bags have been reduced to half of its content. Immediately the youths discovered they started chanting “Ole Ole, Thief Thief”.

A reliable source later confirmed the total sum of the money remain unknown as at the moment while N1m from the cash is meant for the Monarch and the palace, the other part of the money is meant for the traveling expenses of the large crowd who came with the monarch.

Mr. Speaker who took the money got to Kabba, also deducted some undisclosed amount  from the monarch’s  N1m and gave few Chiefs and some selected individuals an undisclosed amount and hurriedly left the town.

The youth of the community who angrily stormed the Speaker’s hotel to demand for explanation the next morning were told the Speaker has travelled out of the town to an unknown destination.

The Speaker’s dubious action was said to have infuriated the Obaro, it’s said that a fact-finding committee is to be set up to investigate the matter immediately.

The Youth of the community also threatened to let the world know how Mr. Speaker diverted part of the funds and also promised to get in touch with the Governor over the matter.

Speaking to one of our correspondent at Kabba, a youth who does not want his name mentioned said “Boys went to his hotel to ask about the money governor gave him yesterday but it was reported that he has traveled”

“Na only him know the amount, the money is meant to be for refreshments for people that went to Governor Bello’s house along with Obaro on a courtesy visit but in short the Speaker has embezzled it. He even removed part of the N1m meant for Obaro”
