Kogi West 2019: Consensus Candidate, Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu PDP stakeholders meeting end in deadlock again.

Ahead of PDP Kogi West Senatorial primary election,a lot of horse trading and political scheming is currently ongoing in the internal affairs of the party on who flags the party ticket in the coming Kogi West Senatorial elections come 2019.

In a meeting held today Tuesday at the party presidential campaign secretariat(Legacy House), the leadership of the party was said to have pleaded with stakeholders from the Federal Constituency to see the need for the party to move forward inline with the decision of the party to work on consensus candidate for the party in favour of Senator Dino Melaye.

Major stakeholders from Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu constituency present at the meeting include PDP NPS, Hon. Kola Ologbodiyan, Prince Olushola Akanmode, Dr. Steven Olorunfemi, Hon. Olumorin, Pastor Femi Obalemo and many others.

Aspirants include Sen. Dino Melaye(Senate), Arc. Salman Idris(Reps) Hon. Nathaniel Taiwo(HOR), S. O Adeleye, Yomi Bello(HOR), Segun Olorunpomi Braithwaite(HOA), Akinwale Samuel Aledare(HOA), Hon. Funsho Emmanuel(HOA).

Incumbent HOR member for Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency and one of the top Kogi West Senatorial aspirant Hon. Teejay Yusuf was not present at the meeting due to slight health condition. 

At the meeting, those who spoke on behalf of the stakeholders insisted on the need for the party to allow a free and fair primary election in the Senatorial district for the survival of the party in the district. 


The meeting later ended in deadlock as no concrete agreement was reached on the issue, meanwhile the party leadership promised to later get in touch but still pleaded with stakeholders and all aspirants present to cooperate with the party decision to work for a consensus candidates ahead of the primaries.
