Omoluabi in a statement issued on Saturday described the judgement as landmark and an affirmation of the people’s mandate he secured at the polls.
“The governor’s victory at Appeal Court did not come to me as a surprise. Truth has no hiding place. The good people of Kogi had overwhelmingly spoken in unison for continuity of the governor’s urban renewal drive, they had chosen continuity of the government that that has offered employment to thousands of their children.
“The good people of Kogi did not mince words in their demand for continuity of a government that has given farmers reasons to smile by offering them palliatives and opening up the links to urban area, making it easy to ferry their produce with zero stress.
“The good people of Kogi were in their best state of mind when they asked for a continuity of the government that has brought affordable health care to their doorsteps.
“They spoke through the ballots for continuity of the government that has given every strata of people in the state a reason to be proud of. For continuity of inclusion and transformation they spoke. Their voice is sacrosanct which the tribunal and Appeal Court have upheld” he said.
Omoluabi further appealed to those whose ego may have been bruised by the decision of Kogi people to join hands with governor Bello in building the state, saying there is room for everyone.
A five-man panel of Appeal Court had on Saturday unanimously dismissed the four appeals filed, challenging the decisions of the election tribunal which earlier upheld Bello’s election.
The panel led by Justice Adamu Jauro, held that the appellants were unable to establish their claim that the Kogi State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal erred in upholding Bello’s election.
The appellate court, while dismissing appeals, found that they were without merit.
