Hon. James Abiodun Faleke wish to commend President Mohammadu Buhari over the speedy approval of his motion adopted by the House of Representatives to review downward to about 50 per cent the cost of Joint Admission and Matriculation Board(JAMB) application forms.
The cost of JAMB has now been reduced from N5000 to N3500 effective from January 2019.
Hon. Faleke who released the statement in Abuja on Thursday said, while moving the motion on the floor of the House on the 24th day of May, 2018, he urged the Federal Ministry of Education to make University and other Tertiary Education accessible and affordable thus the cost of JAMB application forms should be reviewed.
‘’Mr. President deserves commendation by all Nigerians for the masses oriented decision to make the approval, this will positively affect all Nigerians who believes education is the bedrock for development of a nation.
In line with the change mantra, President Mohammadu Buhari took another positive step by equally extending the approval to effect reduction in the cost of National Examination Council(NECO) and the Basic Education Certificate handled by NECO’m
The cost of NECO has now been reduced from 11, 350 to 9, 850 while Basic Education Certificate from N5, 500 to N4, 000.
Honorable Faleke said Mr. President has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to improving the educational standard of the citizenry and as well making education affordable to access by ordinary Nigerians.
In order to consolidate on all the achievements of President Buhari, I urge all Nigerians to vote All Progressive Congress(APC) come 2019 elections as we together mover to the NEXT LEVEL, he concluded.
